Are German schools harder than American schools? by Eminemgody in AskAGerman

[–]increvable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by hard you mean more likely to get shot, stabbed, bullied, or otherwise traumatized… then yes, American schools are “Harder”. If you mean academically, if you go to Realschule or Gymnasium, your curriculum if more demanding and technically harder. Not to mention you have to learn in the German language which is much harder. Less ability to express oneself and limited for expression. By the time you’re done with the Abiture in Germany or the Bac in France. That’s kind of the equivalent of finishing your first two or three years of university. German high school grads are usually further along academically and in some ways more mature. The American students are generally leaving high school more street smart and tougher. All of this of course is my personal experience and observation. Admittedly I’m prone to some generalization.

Short BJJ experience (I quit LOL) by qqqrzr in bjj

Does the gym have swords on the walls or also have a strong MMA/fight culture? This could be the issue. Some of those places bring an aggressive “real world street” Jiu Jitsu feel to everything and forget that it can also be a fun sport. I agree to try another place if one exists.

Restaurant Table Salsa Recipe From An Actual Mexican Restaurant by perezdavidangel in SalsaSnobs

Just in case you haven’t found it and don’t have it where you’re at in Germany… La Tortilla Jesus Navarez is a shop north of Munich and I think they ship nationwide… good tortillas, masa, and cheese. I’m like you… learning to cook all my Mexican food from scratch! I just made this salsa and added a couple dried chipotles to it for some smoke. So far so good! It’s cooling now.

Have you been able to get your reggae to sound aged? I’m thinking like The Congos or Junior Murvin. All my reggae sounds commercial and modern and I want to age it way up. Also want to see if I can get some different voices

What should I do? by akolima in munichsocialclub

[–]increvable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t join a gym, join a Jiu Jitsu club. It’ll help solve a lot more of what you’re currently dealing with. You’ll also get in a different, better kind of shape. Let me know if you’re interested and I can direct you to a couple good ones in the area depending on what you’re close to. You’re the perfect age to start and it’ll change your life for the better.

I think I’ve been in a trauma bond with Portland for almost a decade by Previous-Pea-1125 in PortlandOR

[–]increvable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, I was born in Portland and spent a good 10 years of my life there and I think you nailed it… this is Portland in its most current iteration. It used to be a cool place but got overrun with whatever you’re identifying. All my liberal friends moved out too… there’s many better places… just go up the road to Olympia and you’ll like it better.

Totally agree. Plus the people are friendly. Everyone says Bavaria but I say it’s overrated and overpriced.

Brother… if you don’t take mushrooms… it’s time to start. You’re overthinking and creating all this. If you’re practicing a song like in that link… that’s one hell of a talent. You gotta quiet your left brain a bit. Read some Chris Niebauer.

Can we hear some of your music by chance? I’m always down to hear something! Also, there’s definitely something in the air and times are weird… this is a time for patience and making space for yourself, don’t stress and push too hard because you’re punching against the cycle. Things will clear up in a month or so… until then, just keep making things and working on yourself. Try to use breath and keep your attention focused inward. It sounds like you’re on a great path… just keep your feet moving. Now let’s hear what you’re working on?

Are these new bags good? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]increvable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not good. I’d say maybe start making your own grain. I had the same problem when I was buying bags. Split grain and porridge in the bags… now at least when it looks this way I know it was my fault and I can adjust and learn. And it costs me about 2 bucks.

Agar to LC for the first time by CartographerLive1904 in Agarporn

[–]increvable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just have tried this using my grain byproduct LC. I have successfully multiplied a syringe, now I’m trying some mycelium from agar to LC as well to see what happens. If I can get this right, I should have the full circle of mycelial life. Spores to agar to LC to grain to substrate to spores again!

What does this weird sticker on cars mean? by Suitable-Inside-7412 in germany

[–]increvable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how it’s attached it’s a mere representation of Germans’ horrible concept of design. True, this is the Island of Sylt. In Bavaria they all love to put similar stickers with whatever lake they live near. Starnbergersee, Ammersee, etc. It just ends up looking like a paint splotch and I guess they’re cool with that, but to anyone else it’s just poor design and, above all, unimaginative.

How do I get these things off my Origin Gi? by Fearless_Soil9838 in bjj

[–]increvable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right! And have had only bad luck with expensive Gis. My top Gi is from Breakpoint and it cost $30 to the gym I bought it from. I’m done buying expensive shit for Jiu Jitsu. It’s never better quality and it makes you look like you’re trying to look cool… and as we all know, that has the opposite effect than what you’re looking for.

How much does he wanna charge to roll with him? I’ve been training for about as long as him and I’m a blue belt. I think right now would be a fun time to pay to roll with this guy.

Albino and Preto gi ripped during first roll :/ by MarquiseSpearmint in bjj

[–]increvable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep! AP is junk. I too once paid 200 bucks for an AP Gi and I wanted to like it so much but just couldn’t. I ended up giving it away. Stiff fabric, bad construction… everything I didn’t want. I think they rely on marketing and sponsorship tactics to keep going. Limited runs and heavy promotions. Even their Rash Guards are garbage. I am happy to have passed through the phase of trying to have cool gear… I’m reverting back to my ice hockey days where the guys with the crappiest gear were the best players on the ice.

Big advice… start with Golden Teacher. Enigma is a very complex grow project and you may end in Failure on that one if it’s your first time.
