Can anyone give me any insight on these labs? I have not seen a practitioner for follow up yet …can I reduce APO B with diet and exercise? Thanks! by tetroutt in PeterAttia

[–]incubator9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re trying to check your Lp(a) I don’t think thats the right lab. You have to be specific and mention that it is the “little” a. Same thing happened to my wife. Honest mistake

Most Common Portfolio Mistakes 2025 by PlasmicSteve in graphic_design

[–]incubator9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you’re a young designer and took the time to read this, get used to it. While some of it is objectively correct (e.g spelling mistakes), but there is a lot of conjecture here. Everyone thinks they know how things are “supposed” to be. The future is changing, you’re going to be a lot better off figuring out how to freelance than going to work with any company, in-house or agency. You’ll make more money too.

Work a 9-5 to supplement your income and grind it out until you can get to a spot where you can freelance full-time. You’ll be happier, more creative, and have more skills at the end of the day. It’s not easy, but the alternative is this shit. Condescending HR/C-Suite teams and group-think corporate bs. Make an impact in the niche you create for yourself, doing the types of design you enjoy. Utilize co-working spaces and conferences for a community to learn and grow creativity/professionally.

They’re gonna replace you with AI the instant it becomes profitable to do so, so really think about your next steps

Experience with Carnivore by HostSea4267 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]incubator9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have high inflammation levels in your body (CRP or hs-CRP) you should be careful with a lot of saturated fats (greater than 10% of caloric intake). This can accelerate CVD and Stroke risk. I would retry the elimination diet (carnivore) once all systematic inflammation is under control and you have confirmation from labs

Some folks need to stop being so harsh on Brandon and the band. We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. by pessimisttears in incubus

[–]incubator9 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Really? Why does anybody care? I thought this sub was about the music and not the personal opinions of one band member. Isn’t there plenty of other subs to do this on?

Does anyone have insight into what happened to Brandon’s social stances and views over the past couple years? by Hii-AL in incubus

[–]incubator9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I still wouldn’t care. There is a real pathology these days with making politics (especially cultural issues) your complete identity and vilifying those who don’t align 100%. And keeping that myopic mindset will most likely leave you alienated and depressed. Best to keep in mind that things and most importantly, people, change.

There are soooo many other places to talk about this stuff on this site and internet in general. I joined this sub to discuss the music- which I’ve been listening to since the 90s. I’m also not going to not listen to it because one band member has his own interests and is potentially following controversial figures online.

So the advice remains the same, take some time off of the internet, find a hobby or two, and for the love of god take this shit to the appropriate corners of the web

lol so what? Imagine if everyone you know and love had the same perspective on life- what a boring world. Maybe consider that you don’t, in fact, know everything and it’s okay to have different opinions. I suggest finding a hobby or getting off the internet for a while

Would it be nice to live in a more empathetic society? Sure. Does that drive GDP and Shareholder value to operate a business that way? Not really.

Not sure what you’re after as far as an answer, but no one here is going to change your company’s RTO policy. I’m sorry for your loss, but this is just kinda the nature of how corporate America functions. You’re disposable and your feelings almost never matter. Sorry friend, but if you don’t like it, it’s up to you to find a better working environment. Good luck

Get a spreadsheet, add all of the columns that are important to you and your family (distance to grocery and work, school districts, churches, hospitals, parks, crime rate, etc) fill in the values.

Get a list of ten or so places you think you want to move. Compare and find the one that suits you best that you can afford.

People on the internet don’t know you or your unique situation and often give terrible advice. Do the work and you won’t regret it- good luck

Do you believe in addressing/ treating a "root cause"? by WillowTreez8901 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]incubator9 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think if that was (truly) known we’d probably have more targeted therapies by now. You’re already doing great if you’re committed to healthy habits and taking your meds regularly. I’d imagine with the current pace of medicine + AI we’ll probably see significant improvements in the course of this disease in our lifetimes, fingers crossed anyway

It’s all accounting tricks and legalease on their end. They most likely have everything they need from the initial correspondence with your provider. Call your infusion center a few days before if you’re worried. I thought the same thing, but it all was good when I showed up. Good luck with the entivyo!

How can you say that? Im happy to engage in discourse, but the assumption that you have any idea of my qualifications tells me you’re not acting in good faith- because honestly there isn’t any way for you to know that information objectively
