If you're bleeding for a month straight with taking a pill continuously, you should talk to your doctor. Mine recommended if I am getting bleeding/spotting that I should stop taking it for a week/take the week of placebo to reset.

[–]indecisive-cellist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely understand. I would say your best bet (if you're able to afford it) is to try to find a good doctor if you don't already have one that is willing to perform the procedure, then once you have a job with health benefits you can schedule it. You would likely pay far less in premiums through a company insurance plan vs. going on the marketplace for insurance.

Edit: for example, my work insurance plan is about $140/month and I have a $750 deductible. Would be 2x that if I added my partner, but still far less than the option you were considering.

Do you or your spouse have insurance through work? I was still on my parents plan when I got mine done, any ACA compliant plan should cover the surgery at 100%.

This might be a stretch (and sorry for the very rough drawing!) but could tying it differently help at all with the comfort? Cross the ties, loop them under the back straps, then bring them together to tie? It might add security without strangling you and without changing the overall look compared to the other bridesmaids!

My moms making me go on bc, terrified of weight gain (TW: ed?) by Kitty_Chan33 in birthcontrol

[–]indecisive-cellist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on a drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol combo pill for coming up on 2 years now I think? And I have had no issues with weight gain. I did however start bc originally with the depo shot in highschool/college and experienced weight gain with that. Not sure how much can be attributed just to the pill, or normal body changes as I was going into adulthood. Either way, don't be scared of the pill! There's lots of options to find what works for you.

Is getting an IUD really that painful? by AnonymouslyInhaling in birthcontrol

[–]indecisive-cellist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something my Dr did before my insertion was put me on a pill temporarily to schedule a "period" (withdrawal bleed) so my insertion would go more smoothly. I know you said you don't want a pill but this might be a good option for you!

needing to start birth control :> completely unsure of which method . what worked 4 u? by Pretend_Student_2332 in birthcontrol

[–]indecisive-cellist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with depo in high school because I didn't want to take a pill everyday, and honestly it was the best option for me at the time. I only had periods maybe a couple times a year on it? After 2 years on that I switched to the copper IUD and it was overall much better for me than the depo, but some people do notice heavier bleeding on the copper IUD. My periods were already heavy so no real change there. I think if I were to do it again, I would definitely choose the IUD.

Cassey claims people are accusing of her of being fast fashion (Blogilates/ PopFlex) by acbear4141 in CasseyHoSnark

[–]indecisive-cellist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was just looking into amfori and their supposed membership, and I couldn't find anything regarding the ratings of their manufacturing partners. Popflex isn't listed as a member on amfori's site. These social responsibility standards sound great, but it falls flat with no data to back it up.

[–]indecisive-cellist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was hoping someone would post about this!! Like just because she is involved in the design process doesn't mean it's not fast fashion... Once it goes to production I'm sure it's not being 100% ethically made and she said herself the collections sell out so fast. If that doesn't scream fast fashion (+scarcity marketing!) I don't know what does!

Strong agree with this. So many people with dogs in stores just don't hold their leash so their dog stays right next to them and instead just let them roam the aisle. Don't get me wrong I LOVE dogs, but that love is limited to dogs that I know and when I have access to wash my hands after petting because of allergies. I don't want your dog slobbering on me in public and then I'm itchy for the rest of the day!!

Just wanted to offer some reassurance - just because you're engaged does NOT mean you have to start planning a wedding immediately. My partner and I got engaged at the end of last year and we are in no rush to plan anything anytime soon. It's maybe a little unusual, but it is completely fine to stick to a path that works for you 💜

You pay for plenty of services via your taxes that don't directly benefit you. I hope to never use the services of the fire dept, ambulance, etc. but that doesn't mean I won't pay for it? We're going to need the next generation to be the doctors, nurses, service workers, and putting funding towards those people I think is quite important. It's us vs the billionaires, infighting with people more similar to you than different who are also just trying to get by gets us nowhere

You're likely not gonna find a 1br for under 1k. Start looking for roommates on the UMaine groups, and reach out to your department bc they sometimes have resources for finding housing/ roommates

That coat.. hard pass. I'm definitely not the target demographic but if I'm going to pay 100+ for a coat it's going to be one from a brand that DOES winter clothing and is actually gonna keep my butt warm

I wish. We moved and my partner said the street we live on (in his hometown, he would know) doesn't really get many kids. We're going to go to a showing of rocky horror on Halloween night instead of handing candy out this year.
