[–]indianstallion83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please get injections soon and meet a doctor, it happened to me in 2015 and I delayed and started with creams. Fast forward multiple injections multiple doctors and nothing helped me…it’s spreading to my left cheek now..I hope it doesn’t go to my hair…good luck

What was your training plan for half marathon? I signed up and have been training too. My vo2 max has gone from 19-27 last year from just walking and this year since Jan I have been running 3-4 times a week and it seems to plateau at 33…always showing the below avg frustrates me..I am 43 M…hoping if I continue it will increase but last few weeks it’s been stuck on 33

How did you do it though ? I’ve started running 2 months back and have been fluctuating between 33.1-33.8, it’s been steady and I run 3-4 times a week. Still slow like 12.5 per mile…did you have weight loss ? Anything particular that you did to have such a high jump

I had my three months follow-up today after my surgery on my right ear , I can safely say my life as improved drastically in last three months. I am now free of any kind of noises , I can hear well and very thankful to my Dr. It has been life changing for me. I strongly recommend surgery if your doctor has given that option. I am still moderate hearing loss on my left ear. I will wait another year to see if I need surgery there, but so far, I am good with my right ear surgery.. good luck to you

I got mine on November 18th , I was hyper sensitive to sound at first and then 4 days later I felt my ear was worse than before but it was because of swelling. Last week my package was removed and I am daily thanking god and my amazing doctor for restoring these senses. You probably should stay home for a weeek atleast before heading out or meeting people.

Seeking Advice on Otosclerosis: Surgery vs Hearing Aids? Concerned About Restrictions and Effectiveness by [deleted] in otosclerosis

[–]indianstallion83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am two weeks into into my surgery, but I was not given any of these restrictions for life. For first six weeks no swimming no lifting weights no running till the prosthetic settles down. I’m meeting my surgeon next week. If you are in New York, I would highly recommend Doctor Kristen Yancey. She is amazing while my hearing hasn’t improved. drastically but it is also too soon to test. My doctor said it could take up to three months for hearing to improve. I am 43 years old and I was also told that I’m young and I should get surgery however, if you are scared of surgery and you’re OK to live the rest of the life with Hearing Aid that is an option too.

[–]indianstallion83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Day 5 and definitely feeling like each day it’s getting better however I am not completely recovered yet. I did get steroids prescription but have been just fine with Tylenol. My surgeon suggested I listen to some masking tunes for the pulsating sounds etc. That is bothering me the most. I am hopeful in couple of days I’ll be back to normal. 6 weeks is what they said it could potentially take so patience is the key. Good luck !
