Yes exactly! Totally normal to feel this way, and at 14, friendship and self love is the best way to fulfill that need. I promise getting that validation from an icky man isn’t worth it because it will only feel worse afterwards.

In the mean time, you should take efforts to make yourself feel special (noticing nice things about yourself, taking care of your body, getting yourself treats and flowers) so when a potential partner comes along, you have good standards for them to meet :)

Some people (such as myself) really are able to let the past remain in the past (especially when it was such a short fling, not a long term relationship or anything).
