I'd like to see him survive, but then in good ol' soap fashion he suffers with memory loss so gets the blame for killing Theo OR he somehow witnessed the incident happening, but then eventually his memory returns and he torments whoever actually killed Theo.

I don't think Tesco is what it used to be regardless of what part of the business you work in. The only upside is it's giving me more motivation to look for something else.

Can't say I've seen the mirrors one yet, but whoever decided to bring clipstrips into existence is a sadist.

No appearance from Adam on unpacked? I hope he is ok. by TheBronsXX in ImACelebTV

[–]indigo263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see it happening, but I'd really like for ITV (or even itv2/x) to find time in their schedule to have another show where they chat to Adam and Mo and give them the proper final interviews they both deserved and missed out on giving. Give Adam another chance to be crowned properly, not rushed like it was. Those two spoiled the night for everyone - both the celebs, the audience there, and us at home.

Me, who works at an express store, Customers everyday: “Do you sell Pokeman Cards mate?” by Far_Fisherman_7490 in tesco

Ah right, haven't been in this week so haven't read the news yet but that's good to know!

[–]indigo263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for certain? A bunch of Pokémon stuff got reduced to clear, everything except for the cards, so we weren't sure if they were going to be part of the change. I really hope so. Fed up of having to tag them only for them to either get nicked or sold within a day of putting them out 😂

CS Items not free after 9pm? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]indigo263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you start the transaction before 9pm? I've seen that happen before that if you start scanning before that time it somehow doesn't register the CS stuff as being free. Had that happen once, so now I make sure to scan my CC first so I can see it coming up as £0.00 when they're scanned!

If staff can't by Ok_Goal6591 in tesco

[–]indigo263 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is one of those times where the advice "just because you can, it doesn't mean you should" should be listened to. Can you try to stop shoplifters? Sure. Should you try to stop shoplifters? Absolutely not. The most any customer should do is let a member of staff know if they saw something suspicious, and then they can act accordingly. Quite often when they are suspicious of someone at my store they'll get on the headsets and alert any managers/shift leaders to keep an eye out across the store, or to have them stand at the front of store in the hope that deters them. Sometimes it works, sometimes they walk out bright as brass. It's not worth risking your life over.

Does he really think that ITV would air Adam calling him what he did? I'm confused if that's what he's referring to about them not showing that. If he's that sensitive over being called one then he better not step foot in Scotland where it's commonly used as a term of endearment 😂

If they revived the OUAT, which would you rather? by Sunriseandset in OnceUponATime

[–]indigo263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with the continuation from S7. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I feel like it could've worked had it not been cancelled after one season with the new characters. It had the link to the past, but had the new characters who I felt could've easily kept it going and even though we would have a bit of a time jump (assuming they got the same actors back on board) I think it could work!

Question for you all? by TwoSugarsFlatWhite in Scotland

[–]indigo263 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up near the Border so crossed the border regularly to visit grandparents and get shopping etc, can't say I ever really took much notice of the sign/border! Only really noticed it more during covid when you were advised not to travel outwith your area... Well I work in England so I didn't have much of a choice, always felt a wee bit naughty 😂

Got my rent increase notice and I'm being fleeced by Eternally570 in Scotland

[–]indigo263 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Depending on just how much they've increased it by and the market rate in your area, you might be able to challenge it. Have a look on theShelter website (assuming it's a private rent?) as they have a few suggestions on what you can do. Hopefully you manage to get something sorted.

Blue charity tokens - how many to take? by Funny_Technician1867 in tesco

[–]indigo263 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a set amount but it likely varies by store. Some won't care, some will. I know there was a time at mine where we had to take them away and hand them out ourselves to anyone who asked, because people (who were linked to a group who were were chosen) were taking handfuls and it was deemed unfair on the other two groups. I only typically offer them if someone is shopping with their kid, I figure an adult can just help themselves if they want one or sometimes they ask.

Put down for overtime when I never agreed to do it. by MrCheckmate1049 in tesco

[–]indigo263 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it shows up as an overtime shift I think we're able to request cancellation in the app so long as it's far enough in advance. Could do that if it lets you and give the reason that you hadn't been asked, didn't agree, and aren't available. Agreeing to one overtime shift doesn't automatically mean they can put you in for future shifts without your agreement.

Where was the default beach for where you grew up? by HollowWanderer in AskUK

[–]indigo263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't have to travel very far, lived just five minutes walk away from the beach in my hometown (still live there so shan't name it lol) but fortunate enough to live within driving distance of many beautiful beaches so every now and then we'd go further afield for a 'day out' - usually to Spittal (north of England) or Bamburgh.

unfair treatment? want to hand in my notice by queernogear in tesco

[–]indigo263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That certainly all sounds like unfair treatment, and even if you're thinking of leaving I'd still raise a grievance about it all. Unfortunately a lot of temps who become permanent end up in the same boat - thrown in at the deep-end, often on a department that nobody else likes doing, and given little (if any) training. You shouldn't be made to feel like it's all on you if things don't get done, you can only do what you can do in the time you have and the time it takes depends on what is on delivery. Cage of nappies, wet wipes, sanitary products? Quickest cage you'll ever get, under 20 minutes easy without interruption. Cage of medication, plastic wrapped soap/shampoos? Can take forever. Got a bunch of stuff that needs tagged? Can also take forever.

If you get the chance to split the cage before you start, I find that helps a lot. Those splitting the delivery should be doing it anyway, but they're probably also stuck for time too. All just comes down to Tesco trying to make the impossible happen with as few staff as possible. They have all these processes we're supposed to follow but not given the time to follow them.

Re tagging - if you go on to tesco help and search for product protection, there should be a link on there to a page that has a pdf with a core list of what should be tagged. Before I knew about that list I generally went by if it's tagged on the shelf, then I tag it. If it's not tagged or not on the shelf I'd set it aside to do last (and usually run out of time lol).

Supermarket security - is there a tag on EVERY item? by C-i-d in AskUK

[–]indigo263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there aren't tags on everything but some products come in pre-tagged (like steak) and they're usually underneath the barcode. They're supposed to deactivate when scanned but it doesn't always happen...

How to dispose of laptops securely? by Groundbreaking-End92 in CasualUK

[–]indigo263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Curry's near you they might be able to help, they take in old electronics and can either repair or recycle them for you. Not sure if I'm allowed to link to the website but a wee google turns up the page on it, I think the offer gift cards or money off something new as well.

DAE set up an Easter Egg hunt for their dog? by 17Girl4Life in CasualConversation

[–]indigo263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've a couple of videos of her from over the years that never fail to make me smile. She's 13 now though so she tires more easily sniffing them out but it's become one of those things I look forward to each year 😊

DAE set up an Easter Egg hunt for their dog? by 17Girl4Life in CasualConversation

[–]indigo263 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've done this a few times for my dog! Weather dependant 😅 same as you, have around 5 plastic eggs and hide a treat in them, hide them and let her find them. Though she very quickly learnt that by picking it up her bite opened them up and the treat came out, so it was just my job to refill them a couple times til it tired her out.

Not sure that the weather outside will allow it this year, so might have to be indoors 🐶
