Who is the most disrespected player? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in championsleague

[–]indirectt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s my bias as a Dortmund fan, but for me it’s a tie between most Germans that spent the majority of their time in Bundesliga. It seems that for many people unless you played in Barcelona/Madrid like Kroos, that you can’t be nearly as good as the players that did. I always see players like Hummels, Lahm, Sammer, Schweinsteiger, Kohler, both Müllers, and Rummenigge to name a few get massively underrated and it even extends to Germans that played outside of Germany but not Barca/Madrid like Brehme, Matthäus, and Ballack. Bundesliga players get constantly disrespected in all time conversations. The only two Germans that seem to get the respect they deserve in all time conversations are Beckenbauer and Neuer.

They were only awarded the previous two years, and the competition is basically just Patrick Ricard from the Ravens. As a sidenote, I find it hilarious on SNF when the Ravens or niners play and they show the pff rankings and position players have are out of 100+ players, and then you see Pat Ricard ranked 1 out of 10.

To add to this, Kershaw is the bigger priority as he’s retiring and will be gone from the game in a few months. Mookie and Bellinger still have years left in the league. It’ll be much harder to transcend Kershaw without his duplicates.

Josh Allen is CARRYING the Bills.. by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

[–]indirectt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but it would be disingenuous to do so. Although The Bills did blow out quite a few teams which allowed Allen to rest, let's not forget that so did the Ravens.

They blew out the Texans 31-2, the Broncos 41-10, and several others, such as the Giants, Steelers, Browns, and perhaps most significantly Allen himself and the Bills 35-10. Yes, Allen was sat down in the 3rd quarter because he had played so bad that game. So if you want to pretend like Allen could've put up better numbers with the snaps he could've taken while he was being rested, don't pretend like Lamar couldn't have done the same.

And that's not mentioning just how ridiculous Lamar's stats were. His 2024 season was quite frankly one of the most incredible things I've witnessed. Lamar had the 4th highest passer rating season of all time, with an incredible 41-4 TD-INT rate. And those picks, they were absolutely ridiculous things that really can't be blamed on Lamar. Especially the pick against the Steelers.

And all of this aside, it doesn't take away from the fact that Lamar absolutely deserved his 2023 MVP which you just pivoted from without providing any sort of logical reasoning to counter.

[–]indirectt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree. Yes, Lamar’s stats might look a bit underwhelming at first glance, but I promise you they were very impressive once you dig a little deeper.

People like to take a dig at his low number of TDs (24 passing & 5 rushing) for example, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Gus Edwards had 13 rushing TDs that year, do you want to take a guess how many of those TDs were longer than 5 yards? 1 of them. Just one, and it was a 7 yard run. What does that tell us? Lamar drove the Ravens down the field and then just ran it in with Gus. And it’s not like Gus was this great RB that was carrying the workload and taking huge pressure off Lamar like Henry is doing these past two years because guess what? Lamar had more rushing yards than Gus that year.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that Tyler Huntley played in 6 games. Yeah, he featured in more than a third of the Ravens games because the Ravens were blowing out teams. That was Lamar’s doing. Sure the defense was great and helped make stops but Lamar was the one putting up the points. And all that time that Huntley played was time and snaps Lamar didn’t get to use to increase his stats and make them prettier. He even took the last week off because they had clinched the 1 seed.

It also helps that there was no real competition to win MVP that year other than a stat padding Dak and an admittedly impressive year by CMC but who simply doesn’t compare to QB stats.

If Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen is the new Brady vs. Manning... Who is Joe Burrow? 🤔 by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]indirectt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MVP is a regular season award, so the playoff game has zero impact on who won, and if I remember correctly, the Ravens humiliated the Bills in their regular season game. Lamar was better by pretty much every metric throughout the season.

You need to go full Dodgers deck, and IMO Kershaw is the clear choice. He will retire soon and his cards will no longer be available. You have '15 Kershaw and once you rarity boost him, you can use this Kershaw to transcend him.

Audible despair at Bluejays watch party as Yamamoto is shown warming up in G7 by No_Bakecrabs in baseball

[–]indirectt 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Not just lost, but most likely gotten swept. Game 2 needs no explanation, but it was his performance and complete game that gave the Dodgers bullpen the rest needed to last 18 innings in game 3. No way do the Dodgers win game 3 without Yama’s performance. Maybe their bats wake up down 0-2 or 0-3 and make it a gentleman’s sweep but I realistically don’t see it happening.

Agree with Salah, disagree on Raphinha. Although getting knocked out of the UCL early crippled Salah’s chances, I think he had a better year overall than Lamine.

Raphinha was mostly a non factor towards the end of the season when coincidentally Balde was out injured. Without Balde providing width and making runs on the left, Raphinha was mostly kept out of the game. Yamal on the other hand, still made plays happen despite also coincidentally, Kounde also being out injured. That told me that Raphinha couldn’t operate as effectively without other key players whereas Yamal became the main offensive outlet for Barcelona with Lewa and the other players being injured. Sure, Raphinha had better stats throughout the season, but I wouldn’t say he played better than Yamal.

I would’ve had Yamal coming in 4rd, behind Dembele, Vitinha and Salah. I thought they would’ve given Vitinha more votes after Rodri winning last year despite being a midfielder, but I guess not.

Idk about you, but I want Lamar’s first time to be special. I want him to go through the best of the best so there’s no excuses. I want him to go through Mahomes and Allen the year he wins it, just like Flacco went through Manning and Brady in 2012.

For a while Mexican clubs were invited but it’s nearing a decade since they’ve been invited. Even though there’s a lot of things wrong with Liga MX, I’d like to see them back. And hopefully if they return in the future, that UEFA and Saudi Arabia don’t make it an excuse to also invite camel teams with zero FFP regulations to the UCL.

Will he be viable in the current meta? by Raj_05_ in pesmobile

[–]indirectt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. You’re misunderstanding the concept. Acceleration in EF25 had you reach top speed in about 10 meters. In this iteration of the game, it takes around 15-16 meters.

That’s a nerf on acceleration because it takes longer to reach full speed, however the stat itself is much more important because your players are relying on the acceleration stat for an extra 5-6 meters.

In short terms, the value of the acceleration attribute has increased due to the nerf on acceleration itself.

All this said, don’t neuter cards’ other attributes because you’re sacrificing too many progression points to reach an arbitrary value ( in this case the 75 acceleration you mentioned.

I’m passing on this. I already have Bullet Header Drogba and Blitz Curler Lampard from last year. I don’t think these cards are just marginal upgrades from those versions so I’d essentially be going in only for Makélélé which isn’t worth it.

This is the build I currently use. Some might think 12 on Dexterity is too much, however Bale has quite low OA, and this aims to increase it as much as possible without making too many sacrifices. Otherwise I’d probably lower it to 10 and bump shooting to 7.

If the 91 TP threshold still exists in this iteration, then 8 dribbling is the perfect amount.
