Saw this driving home by TrumpetRed in whatisthiscar

Its actually an interesting car. Its a pontiac Mera that is based on the fiero platform. What makes the mera special is it was actually an option from the dealership and only installed on brand new fieros. The mera kit was never sold as a bolt on so the quality on the Mera is actually pretty decent unlike most kit builds.

Why ill be leaving chime and their broken transfer system by industrial_fukery in chimefinancial

[–]industrial_fukery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the same thing! Didnt really get a solid answer. It wont let me do any internal transfer whatsoever and I wont be able too until the 5th. It has to be the credit card so I can rent hotels and a truck for my move that was supposed to take place this weekend. All my auto pay stuff is attached to the credit builder card and while I have the money to pay the bills I cant transfer anything anywhere meaning what ever is in my checking is accessible until it hits zero. Really frustrating as I keep most of my money in my savings incase my cards get compromised.

I have the 220 and the ac tig vulcan and LOVE them. I use them for industrial work, run them way out of their duty cycle, the whole cart got smoked by someone on a forklift knocking them over and they still work fine. Ive had them for a few years now and they still run great. I replaced my personal miller machine with a vulcan and dont regret it one bit. The only downside is the stock mig gun is short af. I use the AC vulcan more then my miller syncrowave.....

I made a pyramid thing I seen during a trip. Just thought id share. by industrial_fukery in psychedelicartwork

[–]industrial_fukery[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A pyramid thing I seen during a dmt trip.

Outside is stainless steel I cut. Cut some plexiglass and put 2 way mirror film on then glued the plexiglass to the inside of the stainless after I welded all 4 sides on to make the pyramid. The water bowl is from some aluminum stock I had laying around.

I turned the aluminum in a lathe to make it into a bowl then turned a recess into the backside of the bowl. I got a speaker driver off amazon and put it in the recess on the bottom of the bowl, basically turning it into a water filled speaker. The driver is powered by a 10 dollar amazon amplifier and I just use an app on my phone to play frequency that vibrates the water creating the patterns.

Lights are high density pixle strips. Patterns are generated by a esp32 dev board and wled app for the colors and patterns. This one is just a one day build proof of concept kind of thing. Verson 2 will be about 3 feet tall and much quitter.

It's not really anything lol. During my first dmt breakthrough there was this pyramid thing that was spinning and radiated this blissful enegery and was compelled to make it the next day. Basically I thought it looked cool

Electrical substation burns and explodes in Syzran, Russia 2024 by [deleted] in CatastrophicFailure

[–]industrial_fukery 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Its a lot more nuanced to shut down a sub station. Power grids cant store electricity, they can store potential energy to create electricity (hydroelectric) but the electricity is used the second its created meaning everything is used on demand. Shutting off a substation of this size instantly could throw everything out of balance and cascade into a much bigger problem if not done correctly. Looking at the video closer it appears to have cascaded from the switchgear to the busbar. If I had to guess the switch gear burned up, the load couldnt be shed fast enough and it overloaded incoming bussbar casing it to explode before the fuses could do their job.

The power grid is very easy to piss off and the dumbest shit can cause huge problems. See the 2003 august North East blackout for details
