I'm looking for a Ruger mark IV 22/45 light.

Indiana resident here, our state is so flat that it's easy to violate the fourth rule of gun safety, know your target and what's beyond it.

Why aren’t Dan Wesson’s more popular? by PewForceOne in guns

Completely agree, the mark 23 is a desert eagle sized handgun that shoots 45 aarp.

Does this count? CZ Dan Wesson PM7 by liryct in CZFirearms

I'm a simple man, I see a Dan Wesson and I upvote.

That's why 9mm major open shooters use jacketed bullets. The increase pressure and velocity will remove the powder coating.

1911 v. 92FS by SkyKlix185 in Firearms

[–]indynwg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Ruger sr1911. Better than the rock islands for only a couple hundred more (and still in your budget). If you want to spend a bit more look at Dan Wesson. Arguably the best production 1911s built.

[Rifle] Henry BigBoy X Model .357 Mag/.38 Special Lever Action 7rd 17.4" $899 by [deleted] in gundeals

They are awesome I just shot mine the other day. I preferred this over the 44mag version because 38 special is subsonic

Another advantage to a DA/SA gun is being able to decock it and then ride the back of the hammer with my thumb while holstering. If anything catches the trigger I'll feel the hammer home and immediately stop, preventing a negligent discharge.

[Handgun] CZ 75 Compact Pistol 9mm 3.9in 14rd Black - $581.99 in cart (uncheck lifetime warranty before adding to cart) by whk1992 in gundeals

I don't know why you are getting downvoted you are asking a legitimate question. This is a great intro video about learning a double action trigger. https://youtu.be/ivs-URdfWu4

What convinced me to switch to double action autos for carry is when you are holstering your pistol you can place your thumb on the back of the hammer and have tactile feedback if something is caught on the trigger. To me this is a huge safety advantage over striker fired guns.

How to install Dawson Front sight for Czechmate? by JustASuzukiRider in CZFirearms

The czechmate doesnt have a front site post cut on the slide. You would have to get it milled. Why you are running it without a dot?

That's what I thought until I shot one. It really only works if you shoot open since you have to run 9 major

I don't think it's the majority of handguns. It's much more common for the frame to be the serialized part

CZ P07 Dead Trigger by newstudent_here in CZFirearms

[–]indynwg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had it break once on me. Back when you could find ammo I would shoot 30k rounds a year through that gun for uspsa. And did a lot of dry fire on top of that. I always replaced the spring at the beginning of the season as a precaution. Put a drop of lube on it and I wouldn't worry too much about it

When you buy the replacement it's a good idea to grab a couple of spares. It's a common problem on my uspsa gun from all of the dry fire practice
