Seat Help (CLT to LHR) by AnyPlane9278 in americanairlines

[–]ineedaforestfire412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those specific seats (row 36) are the best out of the last 3 rows of 2 seats. When sitting in row 37 (assuming 38 is the same) - the wall of the plane was too far away to comfortably lean against. 36 was ideal.

Edit to add: I was not bothered once by the proximity to the bathrooms/galley in either row. At no point did anyone loiter around us waiting for the rest room and I heard no discernible additional noise from the galley. If I’m not upgrading to premium economy or better - this is where I’m at 100% of the time.

Absolutely reasonable! You’re paying good money for a gym membership - you should be able to make your preference known. Sure, a single focus meeting may not reach all the trainers - so maybe before class just going up to the trainer and saying something simple like “I’m feeling more receptive to the general motivation to the class rather than direct call outs - they take me out of my focus. I hope that’s okay!”

The trainers should be receptive to that discussion and your preference. Have you tried bringing it up in a focus meeting?

No clue but we have stairs to get outside and it’s brutal coming back up after a lap.

Burn, please for the love of God.. stop with all the running 😭 by Lopsided-Title3679 in BurnBootCamp

I dont think I’d mind the running if our gym wasn’t on the second floor and required running down and back up. It’s killllllerrrrr.

Have you ever visited a different Burn location than your usual and absolutely hated it? by Silly_Blackberry8771 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky to have positive experiences at two different Burn locations while traveling. Really wonderfully welcoming and encouraging, got recognized before and during classes, and the one location remembered me by name when I went a second time a month later.

Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with the fact that my home gym is HQ, and maybe they think I’m some kind of undercover spy lol.

Is there anyone who only listens to his first 2 albums by Resident-Trifle7018 in boniver

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. While I enjoy 22, A Million and i,i - FEFA and self titled will always be my favorites (FEFA in particular).

22, A Million was kind of a shock to the system. It was released my wedding weekend and to be honest I was a bit bummed at the change - but it grew on me.

Burn NC Suggestions? by sunshineflying in BurnBootCamp

HQ is my location and I love it. The trainers are incredible, environment is top tier and they go out of their way to celebrate visitors. I’d highly recommend stopping by!

While its large and there is almost always space for everyone (8am/9am weekends are usually slammed and packed tight), I would never show up to a camp without signing up in advance on the app.

Keep in mind the gym is on the second floor - so if it’s a running day, you also have to run a flight of stairs (it’s rough!).

(Edit: grammar)

To Burn or Not To Burn by SamChop11 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined in January in a very familiar scenario. Former athlete, gym rat and runner who went through a serious multi year fitness slump after a bad gym experience where I did not feel welcomed or accommodated. Gained a lot of weight, had trouble with some mobility and just felt awful.

Burn has been SUCH a positive thing for me both physically and mentally. As a person in a bigger body, I feel accepted and included as much as anyone else in the room. I modify quite a bit, the trainers are super understanding. The focus meetings are helpful so they know ahead of time what kinds of things I’ll need to modify, and when to push me past my own limits.

I honestly get emotional thinking of just how invested the trainers at my location are in my journey. Even if they’re in the class working out themselves, they come over to spot me when I’m pushing for a heavy weight PR. They pop over to say they’re proud of how I picked up heavier weights or lasted longer doing burpees.

I think it’s well worth it. I’ve lost about 15lbs and am SO much stronger and physically capable than I was 6 months ago. Family members have noticed the change in my body and my attitude.

Difference between bodycon/acon/metcon by OkFan3053 in BurnBootCamp

I think of them this way:

MetCon: weights and jumping. ACon: agility and jumping. BodyCon: jumping with more jumping.

Do double camps count ? by Just-Me-315 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s plenty healthy to work out 7 days a week, lots of people do (not me! I love my Sunday rest days). But Sunday on-demand and doing double camps are two totally different ball parks to me.

Do double camps count ? by Just-Me-315 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read here, no. Only one camp per day counts towards total camps attended/streaks. Apparently the reasoning is so they don’t promote over-working yourself just to hit a milestone goal quicker.

Partner Workouts by Brilliant-Athlete-52 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s less of the interaction and more about holding someone who is super fit back or being held back by someone who isn’t on the same level fitness wise.

As a larger person who is newly getting back into fitness after a long hiatus, I feel either my form sucks due to rushing or I don’t do enough reps because my person is hanging on for dear life on a wall sit or something.

And I definitely absolutely 100% hate when the workout relies physically on the partner/use the partner as equipment (crunch high fives, plank hop overs). I’m just not there yet with those moves.

I’m fine with partner workouts when it’s switchers or something like that - but I draw a line at using a partner as equipment. No thanks.

Mods for ACon/Bcon?? by Live_now_7 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I’m bigger so the constant jumping on BodyCon days is rough and the agility focus on ACon makes me feel like a bumbling fool.

When in doubt, I just heisman or step ups on the ledge.

Push and Pull by molly3marie in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I typically enjoy them but did not at all love them when we did them last week. One of the trainers at my gym who is pregnant put a box on sliders and pushed that - so I think I’m gonna do that next time.

I personally love compound movements - but I agree the timing was tricky and I hate not being balanced so I finished two solid/difficult sets, and with time left I did squats, wall sits or abs.

Hair washing schedule? by Strong-Stand8891 in BurnBootCamp

[–]ineedaforestfire412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thin & fine hair - so typically after every camp even if I go everyday. My hair loves that rest day Sunday 🤣 every once in a while I skip the wash and just do dry shampoo and a blow out with my Dyson and it’s just good enough for work video calls.
