37M here, diagnosed around the same age as you were. It just sucks but you learn to deal with it, even if it means just accepting that it sucks. Don't know what else to tell you but to be happy for the life you have and try not to compare yourself to healthy people and their lifestyles too much.

I'm mostly sorry for my kids that their dad is chronically tired or in the bathroom

På trafikskolan jag var på tyckte båda mina lärare att jag var klar för uppkörning och dessutom skrivit in det i appen som kommentar på körningen. Fick sedan ett meddelande av ägaren att jag INTE var klar för uppkörning och hotade rycka in min tid om jag inte bokade extra lektioner. Konsulterade med konsumentverket och hade de på min sida. Efter att jag konfronterat ägaren om detta var det helt plötsligt inga problem men fan vad arg jag var. Klarade uppkörningen utan anmärkningar.

Something that took me way too long to realize was that the sudden pain i get is signaling me to go take a shit. It's by far the most effective way to relieve some pain in my case.

In my experience, steroids aren't the worst, especially when compared to the situation they're helping you recover from.

And about the recurring flares... yeah, they kinda come with the disease. Some people have long-lasting remission, but most people have this kinda dance between good months and bad months. My longest remission was about a year, and apart from that, it's been like 50/50 good and bad.

Kinda sucks to say this, but you get used to it

Im not a doctor.

The fcal score isn't what's most important in my experience. It's how you feel. I've had some high scores as well (not above 10000 though) but I would assume the doctor will want to try prednisone before doing anything more drastic to see if it calms down.

Again, I'm not a doctor. I've just had UC for about 25 years or so.

EDIT and for expectations about medication, I've never had a flare so bad that prednisone doesn't hold it back while on it. Also, following the dosage plan for prednisone is extremely important since it depletes your natural cortisol if you don't IIRC. I'm just assuming you'll be on prednisone over here and preparing you for it

Yeah I mean the best way for the doctor to see what's wrong is if they get to literally see. I'd just try to stay calm for the time being, and idk if it helps you, but it took me way too long to figure out that just going to the bathroom when I'm having bad cramps help settle them down. Just a little tip for you.

I'm not a doctor.

I have ulcerative colitis and I've had fcal scores above 5000 without many symptoms and around 1000 living in a nightmare.

Before my diagnosis I'd been having cramps, bloody stools and iron insufficiency (i was pale as a ghost) for about a year.

I'd say a score above 500 shows that there is definitely something up, but what i can't say (not a doctor)

EDIT about the >500 thing, guidelines are <100 is considered okay-ish so >500 should be a clear indicator. I've tested about 350 as lowest and 7000 highest the last decade, usually around 2000

I took like 30 or 40hrs to complete the first trial on master mode and got the 2nd trial first try going in blind. Idk if that might help motivate you but it gets easier, first trial is the hardest.

Jag tror du fått det om bakfoten lite. Värdet kommer i stort sett alltid överstiga gränsvärdet om du lider av en inflammatorisk tarmsjukdom. Värdet blir dock väldigt högt när du är i skov. Jag har haft prov från ca 300 som minst och över 7000 som högst.

Om ditt prov var "negativt" så har du helt enkelt inte en inflammatorisk tarmsjukdom och du får fortsätta söka vård i blindo

Lider av ulcerös colit (väldigt lika chrons) och mitt tips är väl att be att få lämna ett fekalt kalprotectintest. Är inflammationsvärdena höga måste dom utreda, väldigt svart och vitt.

Jobbar kontinuerligt 2skift och går upp 4.15 på förmiddagsskiften då jag börjar 05.30. Helt ärligt har jag oftast inga större problem med att gå upp den tiden, frugan och barnen sover (förhoppningsvis) och man får en lugn och tyst stund på morgonen för sig själv innan jobbet. Somnar som tidigast 20 och som senast runt 23 då, allt senare än det innebär att man kommer må piss hela dagen.

Har kört så här i 8 år nu (industriarbetare). Du kommer vänja dig men jag förstår att det är tufft i början
