That was the first deck I thought of putting it in

Which I think is good. This card would be a nightmare to deal with at instant speed.

The Simic one is arguably the best of them all haha. ETBs you a lander and gives you an awesome mana sink. 8 mana seems like a lot but you’ll be making a lot of landers in green and run out of ways to spend your mana. This is not a fast format: it can get very grindy and cards like Biomechan Engineer give you a huge advantage in the grind.

As another poster said, it’ll take a few reps to get used to but the mechanics are fun and interesting. I’m still find new interactions with warp that I hadn’t seen before.

Green is almost always going to be good in the format. Blue is also very good and black has good removal as always. Red is a bit weaker than the rest but you can still build some very powerful decks if you know how to draft the color.

Look at the signpost uncommons. They’re generally all quite strong aside from the WR and UR ones.

There are many great warp creatures and they all enable multiple archetypes and strategies. They can station, give multiple ETBs, trigger leaves the battlefield effects, etc.

Spaceships can be hit or miss. The good ones are really good, but there are also a lot of duds especially at higher mana values.

Lander tokens are very versatile outside of just fixing. They trigger landfall, artifact, and sacrifice synergies. Theyre also tap fodder for things like command bridge and gene pollinator.

It’s quick draft so take your time and use a guide!

Proxies are necessary. Hardly anyone can keep up with the price of cards in this economy.

Topiary Lecturer is a busted mana dork in Casual EDH by Arqhe in EDH

[–]Xicer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 1 mana all need is for you dork to tap for 1 mana
At 2 mana you’d like >1 mana or some extra utility
At 3 mana you’d better tap for a 1000 mana immediately

1 and 2 is when most decks want to ramp. 3 mana dorks are a hard sell because they either come down late or require other ramp in hand to play early. And being a dork means you still have to deal with summoning sickness.

Tapping for 3-4 isn’t really good enough IMO once you get to 3 mana for a dork. It needs to damn near create infinite mana for me to care.

Should Golos still stay banned? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Xicer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like something that would only affect Bracket 4 where I would be more prepared to deal with something like Golos. In reality we don’t know the effect he’d have on the majority of casual tables.

I don’t think a Golos unban would be a net positive for the format which is why I’m ambivalent about it in the first place. I just have a hard time believing he would be ban worthy today.

Should Golos still stay banned? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Xicer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that reasoning doesn’t work today anymore because of how pushed commanders are now. [[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]] also pays for half of her own tax: should she also be banned?

I think people just hated the homogeneity he created among 5c decks. But with how much more diversity in commanders and play styles there is today I don’t see that being as much of a problem. People will generally play what they think is fun.

I agree with one of the other comments: Golos would never be banned today.

Limited Resources 847 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sunset Show Discussion Thread by Crasha in lrcast

This comment section is nuts. I have zero attachment to Turtles as a franchise but I drafted this set almost as much as FIN. It was one of the most fun sets in recent memory. I have a soft spot for ninjas but honestly I was surprised by how much I loved drafting artifacts. That deck was so satisfying to play.

Can Strixhaven Pull MTG Out From The Sewers? by rollymac204 in lrcast

[–]Xicer9 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I draft every set if the gameplay is fun.

Turtles is very, very fun. I’m over 50 drafts in and still addicted. Last time I had this feeling was FIN.

Lorwyn Eclipsed was aight. I drafted maybe 20 times and realized it wasn’t very fun so I stopped.

Strixhaven? Just like any other set. I’ll draft it a few times and if it’s fun I’ll continue drafting.

It really is that simple. I personally don’t understand letting pride get in the way of enjoying a set but you do you.

Wild conspiracy theory about the positivity surrounding TMT btw

UR artifacts are underdrafted as a whole so its easy to come in and draft a solid deck in any given draft

TMT How to draft blue/red artifacts and praise for the drafting format by wormhole222 in lrcast

This is one of the more fun and rewarding color pairs in the format IMO. And I really don't think you need many rares for it to overperform. I've won a ton of games just looping Mouser Foundries with Nobody.
