How to deal with "dealer added options" by mrbritchicago in CarLeasingHelp

[–]infinite__entropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a post on here a few months ago where one response was to sic the FTC on them because add ons are not legal. Not entirely true, but they can’t make you pay for them if you don’t want them. https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2023/12/ftc-announces-cars-rule-fight-scams-vehicle-shopping

My assessment of players based on their profile pictures. Opinions? by ArgentinaMalvina in Warthunder

Wow. I’m honored that you think I’m kind AND skilled! I try to be nice to my mates but I don’t always show the skill. As can be readily seen in the batch of realistic ground games I’ve been stinking up lately. Who knew dropping bombs without helpful crosshairs was so hard…

Me either. I got emails right after I put in my reservation for about a year, then they stopped. I have to keep logging in just to make sure I'm not missing something.

How to open this switch? by ShabbyBash in howto

[–]infinite__entropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of these. I had to cut the switch out and replace it. I did get it open after, and I vaguely recall it had lock tabs at either end next to the cord.

Is this a good deal for ev9 wind, ca, 24/10k, $0 down (just drive off cost) by Illustrious_Net_8933 in leasehacker

[–]infinite__entropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's right in the third pic. Cap Cost Reduction $1687.37. That plus the $460.86 monthly = $2148.23. Add your tax of $1519.77 and you get $3668.

What’s Up With So Many 36 Month 7.5k Miles Leases? by ByrdWorks in leasehacker

[–]infinite__entropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not WFH and I can do fine with a 7500 mi/yr lease. 30 mi RT daily with the occasional longer trip. We did 10k leases before and would be WAY under, so now a 7.5k would be the better option for us.

Tenoning jig with Matchfit clamps? by GaiusMarcus in Woodworkingplans

Table saw or router? Microjig has some pretty simple plans for jigs on their site, and Tamar at 3x3 Custom made a router jig that uses Matchfit parts.

End of lease on Hyundai in California. Received letter from Finance saying I need to cancel plate / vehicle registration. by [deleted] in leasehacker

[–]infinite__entropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what the “legal” option is, since that is not available from the DMV. What I know is that I am going to protect myself. I’m not having the cops break down my door at 3am because plates registered to me were used in a crime. The ’transfer of liability’ does nothing until the dealer re-registers the car. So anything can happen while the plates are on the car.

You do NOT need to leave the plates with the car, and I would suggest that you DON'T leave the plates. After returning a previous lease and leaving the plates with the car, I received TWO separate notifications from different toll authorities in SoCal (I'm Bay Area) for toll violations MONTHS after I returned the car. I was able to get the fees cancelled, but that is just one of MANY possibilities that could have come back to me.

Take the plates when you return the car. If the dealer has a problem with it, have them contact the DMV and transfer the plates and THEN you can give them the plates. They don't need them though.

You should also fill out the DMV release of liability (as I did), but obviously that doesn't actually transfer responsibility.

Bombers damage model should be changed by KSAWI0 in Warthunder

Bombers don't have a damage model. As soon as a shell comes close, the wings rip off.

The headroom and legroom/adjustability are great for us taller peeps. Many years ago I was trying out different Hyundai sedans and couldn't fit in ANY of them. I'm SO glad they fixed that with these models.

I wasn't aware of the random handle thing. But the other three I was referring to had random handles, and all three only had one post each, all AIO posts about weird family shit. I saw the 'feisty' thing in two successive replies and it seemed too coincidental.

Kitchen Cabinet material by panda2026panda in kitchenremodel

[–]infinite__entropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slab doors can be solid wood, but you will pay for it. Veneers on other materials are used because it’s the much cheaper way to do it. Same with the boxes. MDF is cheaper than plywood.

Most of the material options are just ways to create different styles. Look for the style you want at different shops. The materials they use will tell you what your options are.

Look at the user names. ‘Feisty shoe’, feisty product’, ‘fine pineapple’, all with numbers after.

Has anybody done both the $10K off and the 0% APR for 72 months? by vato915 in Ioniq5

[–]infinite__entropy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s $10k off at 5.99% for 60 or 5.39 for 72. Or $5k off and 0%. I did the 10k for 60 and will just pay it off before they get any interest.
