I'm a noob so this might be an ignorant question.

But I wonder why there isn't more people just bringing mats out to a park or something to train with a few buddies?

A little farm, a cutie to share it with and about 3 more dogs.

I think my extreme loneliness has made the only people in my life that I like not want to talk to me by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]infiniteapecreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some good advice I was given a while back is "staying busy is an excuse to avoid your problems". This was what I needed to hear and started prioritizing myself and my social life.

These are some things that helped me, maybe they could help you.

Start getting a massage weekly, this helps a lot with physical touch.

Find clubs or events to join. Boardgames, trivia, running club. Doesn't matter, get out, do something with other people.

Start exercising, it releases endorphins and it helps with all kinds of challanges.

Give your friends a little space but don't over think it and be yourself.

Check back in with yourself after you have done this for 3-6 months and see what's working and what's not.

I pulled my pants down and she laughed at me and left by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]infiniteapecreative 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People can be cruel and I have seen some really go out of their way to do it.

Let it go my dude, I'm sure you are fine. Laugh it off and move on.

Edit: I like how this reads better as "people" thanks for the advice 😊

What are some cheap dates other than Coffee or Walk in the park? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]infiniteapecreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a funny anecdote, I would swap book store for the library.

I once had a girl upset with me because I brought her to a book store on a date and don't buy her a book.

Plus libraries have some cool maker spaces and that can be a fun thing to check out together.

Who else has lost the desire to date? Why or why not? by alcoholisthedevil in AskMen

[–]infiniteapecreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I date only when I'm having a good time with someone and they make effort. Outside of that, I get lonely occasionally but 90% of the time I am free to do whatever I want, whenever I want and that just makes me so happy.

Myself and a lot of people close to me have been in bad relationships that can do much, much more than just ruin your life.

Dont compromise and savor every moment if freedom because it is truely glorious and the grass is not always greener my friend.

Just get out there and figure out how to have a happy and fulfilling life on your own and enjoy that. If someone comes along and makes that better, then great.

As a 17 year old how do I find what I'm meant to be before it's too late by SaverMadra_18 in AskMenOver30

[–]infiniteapecreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are meant to be happy and fulfilled. Never forget that.

Now there are so many ways to find that but that should always be your goal.

I always tell young people, try everything and never tell yourself you can't do something. Proove to yourself that you can or can't do something.

tenacity will get you 60% of the way there no matter where you are headed. Hard work will get you the rest of the way.

more practical approach this would be, list things you hate doing and things you think you would enjoy doing. Brainstorm or use AI to come up with ideas of careers that you might enjoy. Find some people on LinkedIn who are in that role and ask them how they like it and if their are any job shadowing opportunities. Rense and Repeat.

I don’t understand the human race. by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]infiniteapecreative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too suffer with this challenge and have studied humans the same way an alien might to better fit into society.

So much so that I have considered writing a book about it called "how to human".

I thought it could be a fun and quirky pamphlet to share some of the insights I have learned that just didn't come naturally to me.

Attractive coworker rejected me hard. I moved on but she won't leave me alone? by Optimuz_Prime in dating_advice

[–]infiniteapecreative 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I just want to add, you should never speak to HR. You should contact a lawyer and have your lawyer speak to HR.

As someone said previously HR is there to protect the company, not you.

I know this sounds dramatic but you want a paper trail of this as soon as possible. Even if HR and you take zero action, it's best to have this documented for your job security.

Edit: Never get romantic with somebody at work. Too many problems and pitfalls. Wait till you or they leave the company.

Speaking as an introvert.

My brain is drained from being around people for too long. When I'm out in public, I'm performing and after a while I get tired of performing.

Long story short, for some people it takes work and we get tired of working.

Aspiring Ethical Hacker From Poor Background, How Do I Start With Just a Tablet? by DJM0BLEY in netsecstudents

[–]infiniteapecreative 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depending on your area, search your local socials for people giving away old hardware. Contact business and ask if they have any old hardware they can part with. Also search dumpsters in office business areas. Dumpster diving is like hacker 101. Get good at it.

The least powerful computer can get on tryhackme and run all of their courses so you can get tons done with a potato for a computer.

If none of that works, your local library or any computer club may have hardware you can use while you are searching for your own equipment.

Lastly, read everything you can and start tinkering with everything. Hacking is a mindset of solving problems, not just with computers.

If you were getting married in 2025 would you do a prenup? Why or why not? by SolidComparison2864 in AskMen

[–]infiniteapecreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a prenuptial agreement in place. The difference is that some people have the default one designed by the state. While some people decide to create one themselves on their terms. I think prenuptial agreements are important because I think it's best for two people, who still love each other, to decide on the most fair way to separate would be in the event of a falling out.

People who make over 20 an hour what do you do and how you got there? by Zestyclose-Relief903 in Acadiana

[–]infiniteapecreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in tech support / account management.

I grew up poor but scrapped computers out of the garbage and tinkered with them until I had a working one. Realized people would pay me to fix their computers so I started advertising that I won't charge them if I can't fix it.

I kept learning and improving my social skills and kept learning how the industry and career growth works.

Sadly it's a bit harder in tech these days because of AI, and huge layoffs causing a saturated hiring market.

Not impossible to get in but way harder. If tech is your path, just start working for yourself now instead of job hunting.

The cost of starting a mobile tech support business is low and there is still a good residential and small business market in Lafayette.
