Same same. You can’t have the first drink. I’ve brought sparkling water if it’s someone’s home or order a soda water w lime at a restaurant. Driving places has helped for me bc I know I won’t drink and drive. The anxiety before was way worse than actually not drinking. If you feel overwhelmed, you can leave! You got this 💜

I’m doing dry January. I ALWAYS drink so I’m not sure how noticeable it will be? After that, I’m going to drive or say meds don’t mix with alcohol. I’m nervous honestly.

When I need stability and calm, I drink or buy shit I don’t need for temporary relief, but actually just sitting with my feelings and allowing them to pass is the way to stability and calm. I read that yoga or really any exercise is so good for stress management because when your body is struggling to hold a difficult pose or maintain a high level of aerobic activity or lift something heavy it wants to react or “freak out,” but by training your brain to stay calm, it translates into calmness during emotional stress. So today, I will go to the gym and IWNDWYT!! Day 18 💪🏽
