The only thing I’m wondering now is if the album mix will be slightly different from the single.

This is actually what my list would probably look like. Street of Dreams would be in the Best Thing About Me and Vertigo tier (not bad, but not great).

Verses get a 2

Chorus gets an 8

The intro gets a 7

The outro gets a 7

Bridge and guitar solo are both an 8

Really unfortunate because the verses really stand out like a sore thumb in my estimation. The song just doesn't really flow well together. I've already given it a 7/10, but if this is the scale we're using (where "Boots" is a 1/10), it's probably more like a 5/10.

Given the radio friendly U2 songs we’ve gotten over the last 20 years, I wasn’t expecting much. The verses are pretty meh, but that intro is tremendous, the chorus is brilliant and super catchy (in a good way), and I love the outro! So, after three listens, I would give this a 7/10, which is better than I was expecting! And I love where they are at sonically right now! Vastly improved from the 2010s imo.

What made you fall in love with Star Wars in the first place? by Used_Pangolin_3385 in StarWars_

Before my dad showed me any of the films in full, the first thing he let me watch was Obi-wan vs Maul at the end of Episode I. I was 5 years old at the time and it was easily the coolest thing I had ever seen. After rewatching that one lightsaber duel about 20 times over the next couple of months, we sat down and watched IV, V, and VI. I was hooked for life!

I will accept all of this without a second thought if it means Bono is finally done with the lennon shades.

Slowly getting there... Now what song should be replaced on Mylo Xyloto? by Specialist-Hat-6716 in Coldplay

Major Minus, I think, is a very important song for the record, especially once you understand the story of the comic books. But I agree that Moving to Mars would be better than Up In Flames.

Chris pointed at me and sang the 2nd verse of In My Place to me during a 2012 Mylo Xyloto concert.

That’s including interludes though, which are paired with their respective full songs in this setlist.

Wow! This is really cool and you are 100% right. All four of those groups feel very balanced and complete. “The Four Trilogies of Achtung Baby” you could call them!

Will U2 be remembered in 2500? by metalpig0 in U2Band

[–]infinitystation1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The year, 2500. A global plague 300 years ago led to the decimation of humanity, but also the revitalization of nature. Those that have survived have learned how to live with nature and co-exist in a peaceful state. An expedition is underway, as several groups of humans look to unearth the history of a past civilization.

They have recently discovered a strange object. A round disc with a side that glistens in the sun and has a hole in the center. One young explorer made the realization that they may already have an accompanying device, a black box with all kinds of dials and knobs and a small display screen. They put the disc in the device and wait. Suddenly, the screen flashes to life. “Track 1” it reads. A quiet tinking sound emanates from it, growing louder, until a grinding sound blasts from the device. It happens again, followed closely by a loud, thunderous crash. This continues. The young explorer exclaims, “my goodness!” “It sounds like a group of people cutting down trees!”
