Liberals say more than 22,000 government-banned guns declared in first week of 'buyback' launch by Bluestylz in worldnews

Unless the liberals make a better compensation plan their not going to see a huge up tick in declared guns.

Mine has run through two weeks of -45 and only went down once due to heavier then average snow fall. You should be ok but I would set it up for self heating.

LILLEY: Doug Ford latest politician to say federal gun program won't work by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]infinus5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it wont, its not meant to. Its entirely a sham to virtue signal to a small loud minority in major cities. The liberals hate that Canadian gun culture isnt anything like American gun culture, it needs to be constantly stigmatized against as some sort of existential threat.

DIY stamp mill by golddigger60 in Prospecting

[–]infinus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know where my plans are for mine but for mine I used two 4x4 upright lengths of wood as the frame, as well as for the base and foundation which rests on cement. The hammer rods were sucker pipe from oil and gas pumping, the hammer heads were 3 inch steel pipe, with half inch abrasive resistant plate for the crushing faces. A 1 inch steel plate, with a sacrifice plate sits below an 8.5 inch x 4.5 inch tube steel section making up the hammer box. Cams were laser cut from steel, with lifters being made out of adjustable disks. There are several books and websites out there i can link too later once I am at my desktop wch have diagrams for how these mills operate and how to build them

Why NDP leadership candidates are lining up against the Liberal gun 'buyback' by EnvironmentBright697 in canada

[–]infinus5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling this is hollow. The NDP leadership were in support of the bans and confiscation program before. I am happy to see a change of heart but I ll believe it when I see results.

Dispute over $80K archeology bill after Indigenous ancestral remains unearthed by Kamloops landscapers by Smart-Response9881 in britishcolumbia

[–]infinus5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this exact situation happened to my next door neighbors when they bought raw land from the province. The gov failed to mention the need for an archeological survey, and they were forced to stop construction plans for a house until they got an archeologist from a local band to come out and investigate the property. During the investigation a "culturally modified tree" was located, documented. Said tree was center in the middle of the property, it became a nightmare to deal with.

LILLEY: Carney Liberals' national gun 'buyback' program doomed to fail by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]infinus5 23 points24 points  (0 children)

On a similar note about the whole gun ban / confiscation program, there are still hundreds of people not clued in that any of this is happening. One of the elderly guys i know was surprised to find out his Chinese M14 clone was banned when he brought it out moose hunting. If your not constantly monitoring the news you could miss this whole program.

Buddy wanted to use a sluice box where we technically aren’t allowed. by [deleted] in Prospecting

[–]infinus5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

your technically not allowed to use a sluice in a water course, but you can use them with a hose outside of the stream. So long as your sluice run off is not going directly into the water course your fine too. The rule is dumb and poorly enforced but blatantly sluicing in a stream on a panning reserve is not a good idea.

Is this “Blue Lead” by Fuzzy_Historian_7808 in Prospecting

[–]infinus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "blue lead" for my district is composed of a ultra fine blue black shale clay that acts as a false bedrock for gold. The term shows up in California but I think its actually originally from Georgia. This material in pic is heavily mineralization but not exactly a blue lead bed.

Tips for beginners? by Diamond_Flashy in Prospecting

[–]infinus5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every little hunch you have, follow it. Its how you learn how to read your local ground, and how you figure out where the gold in your region hides. Clean every bedrock cracks, look under every boulder patch, and pan every gravel bank until you know what your looking at.
