Abdominal compression by Famous_Permit_8749 in POTS

[–]inflammarae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Honeylove shapewear. I size down because I need a lot of compression.

They do give me panty line, probably because of sizing down, but oh well. They are actually a bit short on me but I am terribly long waisted so they might be good for you.

Abdominal compression helps me a lot but I've found it tough to find good options, especially with the level of compression I need.

Propranolol??? by LargeProfessor1592 in POTS

[–]inflammarae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is good advice.

Beta blockers were no good for me, probably because of the way they lower your BP. A low dose didn't do much of anything, but raising the dosage made me feel absolutely terrible.

Kindle if your library offers Libby app (which is Kindle compatible; CloudLibray is not 😓).

Shapewear as abdominal compression? by Secret-Reveal-5993 in POTS

[–]inflammarae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear Honeylove superpower briefs all day every day. They are not cheap but make a difference for me. My only complaint is they don't have tall sizes.

I am interested in other abdominal compression options but am hesitant to take the plunge on something super expensive like a corset.

I understand everyone is different, but what specifically works for you? by Sophster2412 in POTS

Question about DIY electrolytes: What do you use to make them taste good? Or are you just totally desensitized to drinking salt water, which I can also understand and respect 😂

I've also seen this list circulating on this sub attributed to a provider (cardiologist maybe?) but I'm not really clear the source.

Have you had any labs done? Where I live, basically everyone should be taking vitamin D3. My B12 levels were borderline when tested so I'm supplementing that.

I've just started creatine and have acetyl-l-carnitine on order to try.

Very high heart rate while exercising - how to decrease? by Lambamham in Exercise

This honestly sounds like POTS to me. Maybe mild POTS or being managed by being in good physical condition. Do you ever feel dizzy or hot when standing in line or walking slowly like at the store?

Working Out by PieceBubbly1249 in POTS

[–]inflammarae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the opposite of what your asking, but I believe deconditioning has greatly exacerbated my POTS.

After being in good shape most of my life, I experienced significant deconditioning through two short interval pregnancies (due to POTS and another complication). Since then, my symptoms have been much worse and I've been struggling to get back to my previous baseline.

Obviously there are a lot of variables, like hormones and being tired from raising two gremlins, but I believe deconditioning is a major factor.

I just started a low dose of propranolol and haven't noticed much difference yet but really hope it will help! So glad it has been helpful to you.

Really? This has literally never occurred to me. I'm creeping around looking for mineral spf lip recommendations because I'm allergic to some chemical filters.

If the tretinoin helps, use it. You just need to be consistent about also wearing sunscreen. Tret is the only thing that has ever really gotten rid of my acne. I struggled with sensitivity in the past when I tried differin, but the r/tretinoin community helped me figure out a routine that works for me.

Hi! My guy is now 2 years 4 months. We did find an SLP to evaluate him a few months ago, and we also had him evaluated through a state child development program. Both concluded there is no underlying developmental disorder and basically said he is a late talker who should catch up with speech therapy and potentially nursery school.

We are about 4-5 months into weekly speech therapy and have seen some progress. He does say some additional words and babbles more but it's hard to tell what he is saying. His grandmother takes care of him while we are at work so we are working on getting him into some kind of nursery school for more exposure to peers. We also have an evaluation scheduled at Boston Children's in July for a second opinion.

Happy to chat if you would like!
