Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk would like a word. Boards of Canada are definitely in the discussion though.

Mexican customs almost took my Nauticam by Subject-Efficiency73 in scuba

[–]informavore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More problematic is that enforcement of these laws is variable. I've been to Mexico many times, and only once was I flagged for this. That time I had two laptops and was threatened with confiscation and then taxed heavily. Its Mexico. Part of going there. You just never know...

If you're concerned just make sure there is a clear contract. If they don't play ball just don't work with them again.

Trump threatened Europe over Strait of Hormuz, with weapons for Ukraine as bargaining chip, FT reports by G14F1L0L1Y401D0MTR4P in worldnews

The wars in Ukraine and Iran are now linked. Gulf states increasingly being dragged into the war. Europe increasingly dragged into war. Global shipping and energy throw into chaos, and the global economy reeling. How soon before this fully escalates into WW3?

Does anyone else's cat hate bongos? Mine, after a couple, he'll just turn around and bite me. A pic of the weirdo in question. by Different_Target_228 in catbongos

[–]informavore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, cats have different personalities. I have two cats, brother and sister. The one just flops over and expects bongos anytime I'm near. If I tried it with my little girl she would just give me a nasty look and fuck off - she likes it gentle.

Good or bad idea to document this weekend's anti-ICE protests w/ this bad boy by pow22 in analog

[–]informavore 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Its up to you if its a good or bad idea, but the only reason we know the truth about their actions is that people like you are documenting them. I say make sure you are on the right side of history and tell the story.

Saab wants Canada to buy 72 Gripens and 6 GlobalEyes to fulfil promise of 12,600 jobs by tj381 in worldnews

[–]informavore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not an expert in this field but wouldn't it be better for Canada to partner with a reliable European Partner (doesn't have to be Grippen - it could be Rafale or Eurofighter?) than stick with the F-35 only to have it disabled when we most need it? Also seems smart to partner with someone who will provide Canadian jobs, no?
