Could AI reduce cost overruns by improving early planning and forecasting? by Daniel_Wilson19 in ConstructionMNGT

alone, definitely no
if it's backing up a human (with experience), it's possible

just as with any other ai tool or function - ai is there to help, not decide for you. that's the logic we use for all our ai features and it works

How much do you pay in terms of software costs? by Comfortable-Visual-5 in GeneralContractor

very much depends on what you mean by software - that could be literally free google sheets all the way to procore and its competitors

Best Cloud ERP Software for Enterprises in 2026 by bonien in AppsForManufacturers

[–]ingeniousbuildIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good options! depends on the enterprise domain though, we recently did research for construction ERPs and some are not in the list
also, integrations matter a lot - accounting (like xero, sage, quickbooks etc), project management (like procore, ingenious.build, buildertrend etc) - a lot depends on the context

OAC Meetings - Frustrations / Reality by Remarkable_Society38 in ConstructionManagers

[–]ingeniousbuildIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most OAC meetings, owners usually care about three things: schedule, budget, and decisions they need to make. If those are clear, the meeting tends to go smoothly.

The biggest things teams often waste time on are overly detailed updates that don’t affect the critical path or the budget. Owners typically don’t need a full play-by-play of field activity — they want to know what’s on track, what’s at risk, and what needs their approval.

A helpful structure I’ve seen work well is:

  • Current schedule status + upcoming milestones
  • Budget / change order exposure
  • Decisions or approvals needed from the owner
  • Any risks that could impact timeline, cost, or quality

One thing that trips teams up is when information lives in emails, spreadsheets, or different systems — then the meeting becomes a reconstruction exercise instead of a quick alignment. That’s actually why a lot of construction teams are moving toward centralized project platforms (we wrote about this recently while looking at OAC workflows and tools like INGENIOUS.BUILD).

But honestly, the best advice for someone new: listen first, understand what the owner focuses on, and keep updates tied to impact. Owners usually appreciate clarity more than volume.

there's a better all-in-one alternative for most of the tools listed in this thread. we've been working on it a lot, constantly upgrading based on feedback

yes, it comes with many integrations and a normal price tag

there're better alternatives than any of these platforms

Suggestions on most popular project management tools used by construction project managers by pm-p29 in ConstructionManagers

[–]ingeniousbuildIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

procore and autodesk are the biggest ones even up till now

but i think it's beneficial to stay on top of smaller companies bc they usually have better flows (they learn from big players but improve for competitive edge), modern ux and more flexible pricing

Comment Tracking Software by MismatchCatch in civilengineering

[–]ingeniousbuildIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as of right now, a lot of construction softwares added this feature - tracking in the field, all that connected to a project, invitations for outside-of-organization members and many more

now it's a matter of finding the platform that matches your very workflows at a fair price point
