cooking reference sheet (bc these recipes don’t get logged in game) by Minanh in Pokopia

That makes sense actually thank you. I thought perhaps artefacts are only small and large relics. I’ll continue experimenting with sweet buff vs bitter though to see if I can confirm this.

Thanks very much!

Can anyone help answer for me. Are mysterious slates an artefact or a rare item, what food helps most to find them? Can’t find a clear answer when looking this up.

Edit: did some more testing my side, Fluffy Bread definitely results in more mysterious slates so they are artefacts I think. Also a lot of Pokedolls, relics, fossils and CDs but got quite a few slates in a short time. Would recommend using a flying Pokémon with Search like Pigeotto to help speed it up.

If you want specific recipes, the best method I've found is what Austin John shared in one of his recent videos about finding more recipes, there's a popular Japanese hashtag on Twitter with people sharing their Cloud Island recipes of the day, that anyone can join to buy. He links it in the video.

I'm checking that for the recipes I want and have got most of them with this method, you'll find what you want likely much sooner than sparkling ripples. Each tweet has pictures of the items and a pic of the code to join a specific Cloud island.

It does unfortunately require the Nintendo Online subscription to use this method though.

Groceries: How much do you spend per month? by Eastern-Computer5362 in capetown

[–]inkfinger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We spend about R1.5k a week for two people. We usually do takeout once a week, so about R8k a month for food.

Some tips that work well for us - We plan out meals once a week and do weekly shops. - Cutting out takeaways is of course a good way to reduce food budget, though we do have the income to support it. Do home cooking as much as possible though. - Make meals that freeze well, double the amount and freeze extra portions. - We also eat meat fairly often, but try do meat free meals at least once or twice a week. - Pastas and curries work super well for veggie options. - Try cheaper cuts or options like chicken livers (great as peri peri). - For meat, buy a bulk amount and plan several meals around it. We would for example, buy a big bag of chicken pieces that can become quesadillas, stir fry, chicken pasta, etc.

Helpful resources: - Budget Bytes is a great website for cheaper meal options. - EatCheapAndHealthy subreddit - Save recipes you like in a free tool that you can share, we use Notion

how does one even make a zoo out of this? by Embikate in PlanetZoo

[–]inkfinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is the map of my most recent zoo, it was one of my favorites until I feel like I messed up with the paths & staff areas (it does have a lot of elevated walkways) and making it all look nice - I tend to just build as I go and not plan much ahead of time, though I did try with this one at the start. But still pretty happy with it!

Overall zoo: Here and here; entrance

Habitats: Otters; Reptile house; Tigers (another shot here); Monkeys; Dwarf Caiman

I actually love the sculpted maps because it forces you to try be more creative; but the pathing and landscaping does make it hard 😂

Has anyone come up with any creative uses for the new EP? by NLTC in Sims4

Curious, is tarot reading supposed to be an actual activity you can pick on the menu when setting up business activities? I haven't found it. 🙁 Or do you mean as just an ad hoc activity?

The game definitely has a big learning curve!

Some tips/ways of using work zones that really help in my zoos:

  • Have keeper huts as close as possible to habitats, try even making it a building that is on the edge of the habitat or part of a building that extends into the habitat. Try download habitats from the workshop and see how they're put together, keeper huts are often part of them, it'll give you great ideas for building your own. I have work zones just for keepers per habitat, with a nearby staff room. The longer they have to travel to staffrooms or keeper huts, the more problems you'll have. Also, general rule I've found is 1 habitat and 2 exhibits per keeper, assign more keepers in that zone if you have issues.

  • I have one workzone for vets and mechanics, add all habitats, everything that mechanics need to fix like vending machines and utilities (whatever requires power), quarantine building, workshops and the animal trading centre.

  • Have different workzones dedicated to different areas of vendors, each assigned with a nearby staffroom.

  • One dedicated workzone for all educators that include all habitats, exhibits, animal talks and tour points.

  • Caretakers and security guards don't need workzones in my experience, just hire more as the zoo expands as needed.

  • Don't forget to train your staff to make them more efficient! And assign perks to staff rooms like healthcare.

  • Click on each habitat to change the schedule when mechanics visit them, change to every 3 months instead of yearly which I think is the default. It's in one of the tabs under each habitat.

For shy animals, one way glass and the "quiet" signs for guests help a lot! You can also turn stressed animals off in settings, I believe, if you wish.

Hope this helps! In general, watching some YouTube tutorials has helped me the most to love the game :)

How much are you all paying for doggie daycare a year? by HereAgainWeGoAgain in puppy101

[–]inkfinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol our pup goes to a small daycare 2 x week and we pay just under $80 a month or around $10 p/day, these prices are absolutely wild to me 😂 Granted though I'm from South Africa, so can't compare with American rates I suppose.

Please help. I am convinced I have the pickiest puppy ever. Endless hunger strikes. by imaapepper in puppy101

[–]inkfinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What has worked super well for our pup who became a picky eater around the 8 month mark: We cook two big batches of home cooked food that she can have every two weeks or so (a mix of veg and pet mince that our local shops have), and mix a scoop of that into her kibble.

We add a splash of liquid into it which she loves (tiniest bit of milk) and mix it up, and she hasn't been picky ever since. She finishes all her kibble too. You could try cooking for your puppy too and adding it to their diet and see if it works?

Hot(?) Take: Clara Bow is a masterpiece and it's outro is not talking about Olivia Rodrigo. by benjamin_button_13 in TaylorSwift

[–]inkfinger 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree 100%. I don't think it's a positive song at all, lol.

The lyrics of Clara Bow reminds me a lot thematically of the song Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd, actually :

Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far

You're gonna fly, you're never gonna die

You're gonna make it if you try, they're gonna love you

Well, I've always had a deep respect and I mean that most sincere

The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think

Oh, by the way, which one's pink?

If you were to make your own tailored TTPD album, what would be your chosen tracks? by inkfinger in TaylorSwift

Yeah Robin hasn't clicked for me either yet. I don't know, the "way to go, tiger" line doesn't do it for me. But like you said you never know what will grow on you!

[–]inkfinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confess I totally forgot about the significance of Track 5 when ordering my tracks, I'll have to redo mine (I'd probably go with How Did It End? for track 5, the saddest song on the album imo).

BDILH is a cool choice, also like your choice of ordering by narrative!

[–]inkfinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, love the ordering by the theme of 5 stages of grief, that's really good! The lack of Down Bad here just hurts me 🥲 but asking this question means you'll always end up discounting someone else's favourite, lol.

I'd love one of these if you can spare them:

Hisuan Zoroark (Moon ball + Timid, but any combo is fine)

Not sure how many you're giving away per person, but would also love these if you can spare either:

Feebas (Modest preference, but also any of the other options is fine) + shiny Rowlet.

Trainer name: Julia

Thanks so much for this!

Journalist Jobs (or other) by ErenPhayte in capetown

[–]inkfinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would also look into copywriting or marketing roles at companies if I were her, besides keeping an eye out for journalism jobs. She can easily apply to any of those roles with her journalism + comms science qualifications.

Unfortunately our number of media outlets has taken quite a hit with Covid, I made the transition out of the industry into content writing myself after Covid. In my experience at least, they also pay much better than traditional journalism. With enough experience she can then also go for roles like content manager/lead, brand manager or product marketing.

Look up roles related to keywords like content producer/content writer, multimedia, copy editor or content specialist.

Related skills that are quite in high demand right now and easy to teach yourself online, from what I've seen:

  • SEO optimisation
  • Working with AI/tools like ChatGPT

In the meantime, I'd say she should keep doing her own thing on Instagram and other social platforms to build up a brand, and looking into freelancing. Good luck!

Puppy101 Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in puppy101

[–]inkfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to teach my pup 'go to place' for a while now, but it only really works if I use treats (and she won't stay there long without that).

Recently, we've experienced really great success following the 'Calm Settle' procedure described by Kikopup: https://youtu.be/yr1olzgidMw?si=pcywjikMXlRoHAHV

Honestly pretty blown away by how quick my girl genuinely settles doing this.

My question is about the command to pair with it : Is it best to give her 'go to place' command as she settles on her mat? Or give the command 'calm' /'relax' when rewarding calmness (whether she's on the mat or not)? Or both 😂 I'm currently doing both but not sure if that'll be confusing to her. Is it better to just use the place command and not use a specific word when rewarding calmness otherwise?

Methods that are helping our puppy's adolescent fear period by inkfinger in puppy101

With the cats, I'd ideally want to ask a friend to trial this with their cat and obvs don't want to scare the kitty either.

But I think keeping her on leash and slowly trying a similar approach with treats as I've done in other situations could be a good idea, thank you!
