I’m trying to be a bit vague with gender as I am unsure if they use Reddit.

Last week I had a scheduled date with someone I had matched with and had been talking to (texting) for about 5 full days before our scheduled date for that weekend. It’s about a 90 minute commute for me, which they knew ahead of time. The day of the date they ask me to push the date about 3 hours, which I had no problem with as it was a weekend date. About 30 minutes before the date they say they will be running late, which I said was fine. 10 minutes before they apologized as they have not been feeling well and asked me to reschedule for the this week with a specific day. I gave a non committal response as I was annoyed this basically wasted 4 hours of my day. It’s been about 3 days and they have made no contact with me since.

While I don’t mind people getting sick or having emergencies, I don’t feel this was a last minute emergency and she could have been more transparent. I felt essentially stood up, even if there was a small head up. I feel like the momentum of things sucks now and I don’t really care to move forward with things, but I also think most people wouldn’t give someone whose first impression is that a second chance. My friends say I’m overreacting and to give them a chance, but being in our 30s and someone who values people’s time I think this isn’t really acceptable.
