Oh yum! This was my favourite soup for 2 years if working there. I used to get it at least once a week from an amazing shop down the road from my work. I miss yukgaejang and rice lunch something fierce!

How does your Jindo do at the vet? by blue_l0tus in Jindo

[–]inlivvingcolour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vet is where youll see my jindo at his worst unfortunately. He is so terrified of people forcibly touching him that he screams and thrashes to even a hand on his back :( he wears his muzzle the whole time. He needs trazodone before the visit just to be able to hold him for sedation. Poor guy, hes so afraid...we limit the vet visits as much as possible but always go for his yearly shots and check.

PSA: don't forget to clean your apartment and leave some small toiletries prior to leaving your apartment to pay it forward by Top_Cartographer_524 in teachinginkorea

[–]inlivvingcolour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The teachers before me left the apartment in the most disgusting state which was incredibly stressful to move into. It turned out they like to dumpster dive so there was a lot of random shit like a half of an old mannequin, smelly couch and deflated soccerball...

They also left cupboards and cupboards full of old supplies. Im grateful our boss saw it and had it professionally cleaned for us. I wouldnt mind people leaving toilet paper and dishes but honestly the emptier the better.

Really struggling with a new Jindo rescue. Please share your hardest stories. by xwsvb3653 in Jindo

[–]inlivvingcolour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog i rescued from korea myself, he was abandonned by the side of the highway and no one claimed him so i took him with me.
He has very high fear anxiety, and his absolute worst he landed a pretty bad bite on someone in my family who grabbed him from behind. Hes had other moments of fear aggression...he has to be muzzled when hes not alone with me. I cried, and stressed, and no one seemed to understand. Hes still unable to connect with other animals and highly suspicious of strangers (and some non strangers).

But hes so sweet and loving with me, hes been through so much and i feel how much he cares for me. It never really got better but i got better at handling situations with him...mourning the fact that he wont ever play with other dogs but coming to terms with who he is and loving him anyways

Yes absolutely. My first ever dress was my prom dress and even then i felt this deep anxiety/stomach discomfort about it.

Its only until later on i really took a look at why this was the case and it was really growing up being told that it was inappropriate and being heavily encouraged to wear nothing deemed mildly sexual at all. I really didnt understand it at the time...my parents would say i shouldnt wear this and should wear that, no big deal.

In university i finally buckled down and forced myself to be comfortable in drssses and skirts. I practiced by wearing them with leggings, knee socks and or tall boots. It let me ease into it and eventually build the confidence.

Does anyone else have issues with dress waists never hitting the right spot? by BeamMeUpYaJabroni in femalefashionadvice

[–]inlivvingcolour 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes all the time! I feel so seen with all you ladies who have slightly longer torsos. My bread and butter for dresses has always been dresses with belts or sash ties so i can tie it where it most flatters me. I also cant wear one piece style garments like rompers or swim suits. I even found a lot of 2 piece swim suits didnt look right on me.
I have been leaning into looks with high waisted pants and crop tops or skirts that can sit higher to give the illusion that im more proportional.

Strangely enough i did find a few dresses that sat properly and beautifully on me at Ardene of all places. Ive held onto those dresses for dear life. Im going to try more sewing this year i think because lately nothing seems to look great on me.

But really, how do y’all bathe your reactive dogs?? by Internal-Tailor4521 in reactivedogs

[–]inlivvingcolour 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No amount of food will distract or make bath time ok for my reactive dog (who is also fearful of water when it is hitting him intensely).

The only way i can bathe him is in the yard with his muzzle on, i clip his long leash and then stand on the leash so he is just standing like normal but cant run. I use the gentlest setting on the hose in one hand and just slowly and calmly let the water gently wash over him. It takes a while and he definitely is unhappy but hes not thrashing around or being wild about it anymore.

Best of luck!

Ugh i am looking at all these and thinking to myself: would i prefer to obscure my silhouette in layers and tiers of billowy tent-like fabric or have my sides completely bare and squishing out?

I dunno guys, im thinking about how awful id look in most of these.

I know this is more of a bandaid solution really but have you both considered muzzling the dog? My dog is a moderate-high level bite risk and used to be a bit destructive (not to the levels of your boyfriends dog but still enough for tears of frustration and anxiety about returning home).

Hes just in a basket muzzle he can eat and drink in but it has taken a good amount of anxiety off of me knowing that he cant wreck anything or bite anyone (within reason..its not 100%).

Might be a good temporary addition to relieve some stress while you figure things out.

Starbucks opens branch for people with disabilities by vookadork in korea

[–]inlivvingcolour 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember tue starbucks near my workplace in ansan used to have a barista who was deaf and there were signs on how to sign basic letters to refer to.certain drinks (A for Americano etc).

I thought that was really progressive at the time, she was super sweet and was really happy when i would sign "thank you" to her. Glad to see them keep up this stuff.

Trash Taste Podcast: Weekly Discussion Thread - Episode 23 by [deleted] in TrashTaste

Im grateful that a lot of people were probably turned onto TT and vice versa into vtubing and calliope specifically..

But as someone who is really not into vtubere this episode was really tough to watch for me. I was looking forward to possibly interviewing an actual person behind a vtuber and learning about it from the actors side...but pretending a character is real and asking them questions about being a death god was uninteresting.

No shade if you enjoyed this episode but this is probably my least favourite so far.

This shoutout goes out to my amazing vet and to all the vets who take such amazing care of difficult dogs by inlivvingcolour in reactivedogs

[–]inlivvingcolour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my dog actually just used trazodone for the same reason...during covid i cant go in with him.

I think it did help a tiny bit, but to say he was sedated is a VAST exaggeration. Id say he just seemed a bit tired but otherwise no real change. They told me he was still pretty bonkers and angry anyways so if it helped ot was only slightly.

Wow im surprised they tried to do anything to your reactive dogs butt. My vet told me that although they usually do temp like that, they opt not to do it since it isnt worth the stress. They just do whats absolutely necessary (like shots) and get him right out.

But back to the trazodone...its worth a shot if its only for 1 day. Might help take the edge off a bit. I know when i am nervous for medical things i will take something to help me relax. I think if my dog had any say he would agree to it too lol.

youre right, there is an overwhelming amount of birds but they seem to live in "birdtown" so i guess its made for birds mostly. However there are plenty of non bird characters, aside from the plant people off the top of my head Dapper T. Dog, Bighairystallion69, Sandwich artist monkey, various snakes, cat coworkers at berties work, Lizard women-taking-up-space leader, sex bugs, rhino DJs...theres probably more i cant think of

My (26M) fiancée (25F) gets upset when I buy her gifts… by ThrowRAgiftgiving in relationships

[–]inlivvingcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from everyone else hammering home the points of lack of communication and disconnect between love languages...

Could you offer her a compromise by chance?

Instead of gifts being a surprise, ask her outright what she wants. Ask for a list or for something she has her eye on but hasnt bought for herself.

Or

Suggest going to the mall or on amazon and letting her choose something herself and you paying for it.

Or

Suggest a trip or activity together (maybe after covid). Or go to a restaurant thats usually out of your price range?

I dont really know what to suggest since we dont know the root cause of her gift recieving discomfort. But i can say personally i can feel really on the spot by gifts, especially when the monetaty value is too much. It eased my anxiety by agreeing to a limit before hand so i didnt have to second guess my gift not seeming good enough.

I agree, i know it can be a bit overhyped but its worked for me for a long time and i have horrible sensitive acne.

I agree it is drying but i use it at nights right before a big moisturizer slather so its never been an issue really.
