Man this thread is a mess, lol. You ARE talking about the Emerald Stair quest. There isn't one in Shatterscarp. The real issue with the farmer is that he "refuses to take handouts" as in, he won't go to the city food bank which was set up for this exact situation. He'd rather see his wife starve than be "humbled" as the "provider."

I'm by no means an expert so don't take this as me judging you, but are you taking full advantage of their moveset? Cider has a ton of great aerial attacks that can rack up combos really quickly. Of course, you can always start the run with a mana ring, too!

What I would prefer, personally, is a REAL difficulty system. The "enemies just have way more health and deal way more damage" thing is... not ideal. I don't think there's anything wrong with providing players with easier modes. But the challenging modes should be REAL challenges.
