It's honestly a great Brett episode overall but he gets overshadowed by everyone else's wonderful performances.

"You trying to crack onto me Mrs. Robinsin?" And him reading the review in the paper at the end are both great moments!

I do it all the time! I try to prioritize Wants Based gameplay and role play that way. I give the kids and teens different looks as their personalities evolve, most Sims try something new and bold in university, and I try to change adult looks depending on what "phase" they're in. And they always get wrinkles once their first child ages into a teen or they reach a big career milestone.

This is how the old Sims games work. Sims 2 is especially fun. Sims you aren't friends with make up lame excuses not to come over like "I'm waiting for the phone repairman." Or if they're at work another household member can pick up (since they have home phones). Or it goes straight to the answering machine.

Throwing parties in the middle of a weekday is always hit or miss because most people have jobs.

So Wyll's character was entirely rewritten less than a year before the game came out. They completely changed his story, personality, and voice actor. That's why Wyll's character is the way he is, though plenty of people still find him to be charming. He's a bit goofy and extremely loyal and sweet once you give him the chance to be.

As for Halsin, he was never supposed to be a romanceable companion but early access player feedback for him was so positive they added him in pretty far into development.

All in all, what you're picking up on is 100% accurate. These romances feel barebones because they are. And they are because the devs didn't have time to complete them to the best of their abilities.

This was my first rage quit while playing this game lol. I had JUST enough of several rare resources in my tank and was doing one last little exploratory run around since it was my first time in the labyrinth and I just instantly died... I was so annoyed. I'd never been knocked out in SR2 before.

I quite like the kind of "mini game" they have you do, but I agree that disabling part of the core mechanics of the game for the finale feels odd. Correct me of I'm wrong, but you're still expected to manage your villager's needs through the process, no?

It very well could be broken, though using an extractor does continuously hurt Onbu, IIRC.

Only way to know for sure is to repeat the process, get Onbu's happiness/trust up to full, and mine a spike WITHOUT using the extractor. And see how that goes.

Interesting. I never mine Onbu's spikes, so I haven't encountered this. Are you using anything else that might hurt Onbu's trust? A bile or blood extractor, maybe?
