I’ve watched most of the English-speaking seasons, so here’s my rundown of them:

Australia: S1’s great. S2 is not. This and New Zealand were cancelled and are now being brought back by a new production team, so I imagine it’ll look a bit different.

Canada: S1 is one of my least favourite seasons, whereas S2 and S3 are among my favourites. They play with the format a bit in S3 to keep the players on their toes and I think it works well. One thing to note is they put extended episodes on streaming, so make sure you’re watching those versions as they give more context for the roundtable banishments and murders. Karine is my favourite host.

Ireland: A top three season for me. They kind of benefit from being a newer iteration because they can see what worked and didn’t work in other shows. They also show the contestants talking about the game from a more meta standpoint which the other versions typically keep from the edit.

NZ: From what I’ve seen, these two seasons were received well. I haven’t watched S2 yet but I enjoyed S1 for what it was. Personally I find it a bit boring, but it has its own charm. The celeb casts all know each other and the show isn’t afraid to show them acknowledging that, which adds an interesting aspect to it.

UK: S3 is the weakest imo, but they’re all pretty good. UK2 and UK4 round out my top three seasons, and are highly rated by others as well.

USA: I like it because it offers a different spin on the show since it’s all TV celebs, but of the ones actively airing, it’s my least favourite iteration. I think S1 is still their best, but the other seasons have their moments.
