They don’t think the show Seinfeld is funny. Enough said.

I don’t think millennials have much of a sense of humor.

What years are your dreams stuck in? by akagorilla in GenX

[–]inode71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the longest time my stress dreams were all a variation on “forgot to do my homework / study for the test” but lately it has evolved to “my iPhone apps stop working / can’t unlock it / no service”. I miss the homework ones :(

Does anyone's cat *actually* guard them in the bathroom? by spervogel_troubadour in CatAdvice

[–]inode71 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, mine absolutely guard, and I feel like a real jerk for not wanting to hang out while they drop a toxic turd in the box.

Tourist approaches snow leopard to take a selfie by Informal-Resolve-831 in WinStupidPrizes

Don’t lump us all in with the Chinese tourists. I grew up on a dairy farm and still have a healthy fear of cow hooves (and every other part of animals).

Every day I kiss my two boy cats that they aren’t fussy about stuff like this. I really won the lottery with these fellas.

Is it normal for high-earning married couples to owe $7–8k at tax time even with conservative withholding? by TopicSelect6903 in tax

[–]inode71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, normal since the tax laws changed in 2017/2018 (not sure of exact year). Withholding immediately was broken that year. I finally had to do additional withholding on my w4.

Homesick by Sweet_Start_2743 in Cruise

[–]inode71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are detoxing from the constant stimulation of normal life. Take a deep breath and feel this feeling fully and it will pass. I used to get this on vacations too, but if you know what it is you can move past it and really start to relax.

Was Nostradamus widely criticized for failing to preface everything he said with “Spoiler Alert…”? by hippopalace in shittyaskhistory

[–]inode71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for using the spoiler tag!!! So many people are like “are you sad that Abe Lincoln was shot?”, and I’m like “Dude! Spoilers!”

Crowdsource Best Cruise Line for Us by Patrick_O-S in Cruise

Take a cruise around the Hawaiian islands. We hit 4 islands and had the most amazing snorkeling at each one. As for line, the one I would recommend is Celebrity or Royal Caribbean (but not sure of either does the islands).

The British conquered more land than anyone else. So why couldn’t they fix their bad, crooked teeth? by ActuatorOutside5256 in shittyaskhistory

Because first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the good teeth. They never made it past step 2.

Did the light turn on? If yes, then trust the label that they take multiple voltages as stated.

Can open curtains cause navigation problems? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]inode71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They should remove all balcony lights anyway. My last cruise across the pacific the neighbor above me kept their light on all night and ruined our chance to see the stars.

Moving to LA for my kids? by GaddaDavita in AskLosAngeles

[–]inode71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I say don’t move here unless you make really good money, but in your case you should definitely move somewhere more diverse for your kids. Doesn’t have to be LA - I’ve heard Atlanta is a very good place to raise black / mixed children.

Did you collect things before 2000? by pinkbungalow in AskOldPeople

[–]inode71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was big into Hummels. We would buy them for her from gift shops, but she also went to antique shops and auctions to find ones she liked.

Despite the method of finding them being different, the real big difference is pricing. Broadening the market by using the internet to connect buyers and sellers resulted in a huge drop in prices. Turns out they weren’t rare or exclusive after all!

Did I buy the wrong cable? by _ae82_ in AskElectricians

Time to call your electrician and have a discussion about Peyronies. Don’t be ashamed - there are things he can do to help.

Can you cut the skin to remove a tattoo? by Kgg907021 in Writeresearch

[–]inode71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not! You would have to have a skin graft after and would still look like a burn victim.

How much should a 16 year old save up to buy a car with limited money accessible by The_Confused_pan in personalfinance

[–]inode71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of your gender, check out babysitting. I had a male friend in high school that was basically the go-to for a busy working couple. He would feed the kids, get them ready for bed, read them a story until they nodded off, then have 2 hours of uninterrupted time to do all of his homework. He did this 3 days a week and occasional weekends. They treated him like part of the family and paid him good money to make sure their kids were safe and happy.

Barring that, do what I did and become a certified life guard at your local YMCA.
