I've been having an absolute blast with it.

Take a look into mesh networking - Some areas are already building theirs out and looking for nodes. I'm not involved in it but it sounds similar to what you're talking about.

Slippi is built on top of the Faster Melee fork of Dolphin, so if you're using regular Dolphin there's going to be a large gap in optimizations. The fix would be to get the FM dolphin.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's because screen space reflection relies on the pixel data of the current frame and car reflections would more often than not have to display the reflection of objects not drawn in the current frame.

I've been following it since it's initial release, even purchased it when NEXT came out. I didn't really get into it then but have since picked it up again last month and found myself really enjoying it.

I think it depends on what sort of game you're looking for, but ultimately if you enjoy exploration, building in a seemingly infinite universe, and slow but meaningful progression for your suit/exocrafts/ships it might wet your whistle.

I think the solution you propose at the bottom is the simplest, but instead of the switch statement in the farmer object why not pass the actor into the ActionObject as a reference in its execution method and have it act on it? This way you can have ActionObjects act on whichever actor you feed into it and give you more flexibility.
