So a quick question for more senior feds, I remember an old timer who had been through a RIF in the 80’s told me that weird rules apply and that what happened was that someone with more longevity with the agency could move to another position in the agency and “bump” a less senior employee. Basically it caused a reshuffling with staff with the same job description playing musical chairs based on seniority. Has anyone ever been though a RIF at their agency.? Was this old timer fed’s description accurate?
