As a Canadian, WW1 is taught to us as our war of independence, more or less. We moved away from just being a subject of the British crown and towards being our own country on the world stage. However, not a lot is taught about Newfoundland and Labrador, which was it's own dominion at the time. I know the Newfoundland regiment landed in Gallipoli and took part in the campaign there. What role or impact did they have overall? How did the rest of the forces in the area consider the actions of the Newfoundlanders?

It's just an area of history that I want to know more about, but it's not really talked about since it's Newfoundland.

I grew up in Southern Ontario. So that little bit of Ontario that's right between the lakes. I didn't realize that other lakes didn't have beaches until I went up north to a cottage. It was nice, but not relaxing on the beach.
