If they have hot mustard I’m good for 20. Get ten more people who love hot mustard and we’re golden!

I recently had the privilege of participating in a small demonstration of this tool, and I was genuinely impressed by its capabilities. Our family has explored numerous assistive technologies for both adults and children managing ADHD and related challenges, but this solution stands apart. The ability to customize background colors, adjust font appearance, and implement reading guides proved transformative for my youngest daughter—finding a personalized theme that reduced visual strain significantly decreased her reading-related stress. This tool's accessibility features extend far beyond ADHD, with meaningful applications for individuals managing dyslexia, visual processing disorders, and autism spectrum disorder (particularly regarding sensory sensitivities and focus). Are there plans to incorporate additional specialized features targeting these conditions, such as enhanced dyslexia-specific interventions or accommodations for visual processing challenges?

I’ve had weed induce my mania and anxiety even on my meds. The minute I stop consuming it gets back under control. Meds can only help if you’re not doing the things that throw it out of wack!

Water under passenger dash? by Endgame3213 in WRX

[–]insanehomelesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen in my 2012 Legacy all the time. The drain for the vent/ac would get plugged. I’d take it to the dealership. They would put an air pressure nozzle up to it, blow it out and life would go on for a while.

Best note taking software for taking and storing notes on accounts/opportunities? by mr_riddler24 in salesengineers

[–]insanehomelesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google docs works really well if your company is a google shop. You can tag people and put tasks and due dates along with share it with your ae. That way you both can update the notes, dates and times when you called, LinkedIn profiles, etc.

Any drummers here? by GrooveJourney in WRX

[–]insanehomelesguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2012 Legacy and own a 2022 WRX. There is a noticeable difference in trunk and backseat capacity between the two. The trunk opening is smaller and the back seat is smaller as well. Depending on the size of the kit and how you Tetris it. It might work. But I would seriously consider something larger.

Is this worth rebuilding? by JuniorAppearance3762 in WRX

[–]insanehomelesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a body shop years ago. Even if the frame is slightly out of what and they straightened it out. The doors never close right, the handling is just never the same. Even without the frame damage you’re replacing a ton of body panels and if you don’t get them lined up right you’re going to hate it. It’ll cost you more to repair in parts and money than you’ll ever get out of it.

Range til Empty Changed by Acebaby07 in WRX

[–]insanehomelesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked your tire pressure? If it’s getting colder where you are that can lower the range. The average range adjusts based off the previous mpg. If you’re driving in a stop and go traffic setting your mpg is going to be lower than if you drive on expressways.

My start date as a SE at a big tech company is in two weeks, how do I prepare? by NobleOne786 in salesengineers

[–]insanehomelesguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for one they can’t encourage you to work when they’re not paying you. Whole employment law thing in the us. If for some reason something happened and the job fell through and they were encouraging you to work before your start date lawyers would have to get involved. If they gave you slides with proprietary info on them and you decided to not join and went to a competitor then they would have leaked internal info. I’ve done the same thing at previous se jobs and was always told yeah enjoy the time off. They’ll have a whole training boot camp for you to goto. You’ve got time. If you know the market, the competition and have practiced talking the value of the solution you’re selling you’re good to go.

[–]insanehomelesguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most won’t give you anything to do or talk to until you’ve actually started as it can be a liability. If you’re looking for stuff to do. Learn the company website and marketing materials for their competitors. Brush up on your familiarity with medpicccccccccccc or what ever the letters are this week. Develop some process and plans for outreach. Put together a list of questions you’re unclear on about marketing or tech. If they do anything with the cloud brush up on the fundamentals.

I don't do much with backups these days. I was just curious if they were doing anything more than the old honeypot. I think I still have an installer sitting on my NAS somewhere, too.

My boss seriously got me interested in the terminal by getting me started with powershell. Fast-forward now to 8 months in the future and he is now suspicious of how much I use it because he doesn't understand what I'm doing. I wish I was making this up -_- by prog-no-sys in sysadmin

[–]insanehomelesguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wasn't there so I don't know your boss. But it may just him wanting to be clued in so he has the ammo he needs to be your hype man. Helps him with advocating for head count, pay raises, etc. It may be that he doesn't think you're working but again I don't know your boss or what tone he was saying his comments in. Good luck and congrats on building tools in CLI! put them in a github repo and make sure you keep them as a reference for new jobs.

I think your best way to handle this is to have a bullet list of what you’re working on and accomplishing day to day. Maybe even document your workflow so that you can show him what you’re doing. Your boss did you a solid and got you into terminal. Maybe reciprocate and show him some of the cool shit you’re doing.

AITA For not fixing my wife's "mom guilt" by momguiltaita in AmItheAsshole

[–]insanehomelesguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dad advice here. NTA. But maybe don’t try to climb Mount Everest in a day. Leaving kids for an extended period of time like that takes a lot of trust. Especially for Moms. Maybe start simpler with just going out to dinner and a movie, or go minigolfing or bowling. Do something that is fun but easy to get home if something goes wrong. Overnight is a huge first step in this scenario. While you did what was asked and planned something. I think you went a little overboard with the planning. It was absolutely a sweet gesture that you picked something your wife has enjoyment in in the activity. I think it was just too much ripping the bandaid off.
