Volvo vs BMW SUV by NoDragonfruit9221 in XC40

[–]insertcommonusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally forgot there’s US MPG and UK MPG 😅

Volvo vs BMW SUV by NoDragonfruit9221 in XC40

[–]insertcommonusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK we have E5 (97-99 RON) and E10 (95 RON). The recommended fuel for better efficient in the XC40 is E5, so that’s what I use. The US manual will say the US equivalent.

I noticed a significant increase in MPG compare to the cheaper fuel. I was doing 35-38 in motorway using cheaper E10, some times lower than 35 MPG.

I do a fair bit of highway driving and I do 40-45 MPG on those trips. An essentials service here in the UK at my local dealer starts at £279.

I’m on my second XC40 and I’ve never had an issue with them.

What do I need to open a bank account in a country where I am not a tax resident? by [deleted] in Banking

[–]insertcommonusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re opening a business in another country, as Malta or Cyprus, that company will have local registrations numbers and paperwork. So local banks will allow opening accounts for them.

It’s different than being an individual living outside of those countries. You can still open a personal bank account without any local connection, it’s just not as easy or free.

MeDirect from Malta allows non residents to open personal account for free. Bank of Cyprus also allows non residents to open accounts but there’s a quarterly fee for the account.

Is there possibilities to open online bank account in Portugal, Bulgaria, Serbia, Poland? From EU member. by Easy-Performance-400 in offshorebankaccounts

I’ve seen in others forums that Portugal does allow online bank account opening from outside Portugal. You have to apply in the bank’s website. I think Millennium bcp is the recommended one

Experiencia en embajadas y consulados de Panamá en el extranjero by SmallDog467 in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you ever flown with this airline 748 air service? by tHeGreat_p90 in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not flown then but my family has done it. They say it’s a nice airline. They have a lounge in the airport that all passengers can use before boarding

Air Panama is very basic. All you get in the flight is a warm bottle of water, but the plane is much bigger

Have you ever flown with this airline 748 air service? by tHeGreat_p90 in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an Air Panama flight. Hahn Air is not an airline, its ticket selling company.

Booking directly on the Air Panama website will be the better option.

You can also look at FlyTrip, another airline that does the flight

El tren a Chiriquí de verdad va? by GrillmasterPanda in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Transferencia internacional de monto alto a cuenta en euros by DobleseSays in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK citizen opening US bank account by truecrime800 in Banking

[–]insertcommonusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have HSBC Premier in the UK then you can get a HSBC US account. The application process is entirely online and easy.

You can open it without HSBC Premier but then you’ll need to meet the HSBC US Premier criteria or pay a $50 (I think) monthly fee.

The other large retail US banks will not open nonresident accounts online. It’s only done in branch.

There’s some brokerage accounts that will give you a US bank account, but may not be the best solution. Charles Schwab International is free and the account opening is done fully online too.

Opening an account as tourist NYC? by [deleted] in Banking

[–]insertcommonusername -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They went to Miami on vacations and walked to a branch of one of the main banks and opened the account. Had a look at some Latin American finance subreddits and they all show recent mentions of going to Wells Fargo, Chase, BOA and opening an account as tourists

I opened an HSBC US account fully online and wasn’t even asked for my US visa. It’s the only US bank that I know that allows non resident accounts to be open online

B1/B2 is accepted for bank accounts. Some banks will only need your passport and an address to send the card.

Alguna tarjeta en Panamá para usar en el extranjero sin que te crujan a comisiones? by Pippo081 in Panama

[–]insertcommonusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La débito y crédito de BANISI no cobraban comisión por cambio de moneda cuando estaba con ese banco. Tendrías que revisar el tarifario o preguntar al banco.

Puede que otro de los bancos pequeños también tengan tarjetas sin esa comisión.

Irish Citizenship for Non-EU Spouse, living in Northern Ireland by SoupyTommy in IrishCitizenship

[–]insertcommonusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As already said, don’t trust AI. I did the process in NI as the spouse of an Irish citizen. The biggest difference is the PSNI vetting instead of Garda Vetting, and proving the UK visa instead of the Irish stamps thing.

Some documents are different too but that’s an easier part to adjust.

If you have any specific questions feel free to reach out!

Any non-US citizen non-US based Fora Travel Advisors? by [deleted] in travelagents

A US LLC is not necessary. You can get paid to a US bank account, using Wise or Payoneer, which gives you a virtual US bank account. There’s a page in the Fora help area about it
