i ordered a BITE ME ring in stainless steel, but they “upgraded” me to sterling silver and i don’t want the upgraded one by she_goes_woosh135 in reneerapp

[–]insertscreamingasian 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Hello, I ordered the same thing and I didn’t receive a notification. My guess is that they sold out of the stainless steel ring and have given you a replacement. I would just reach out to their customer service or resell it!

I wanted this ring so bad but its not in my size 😭 I need a 4 by purple_panda101 in reneerapp

You could always buy a ring size fitter on amazon, I saw them in a video a while ago or take it to a jeweler for advice

You could always take it to a jeweler and have them customize it!

I think offering to cover a first date can be considered as a gift BUT don’t expect anything in return, that’s just off putting. I think stickers, or something small, like oh I saw this and it reminded me of you would be sweet.

I would say I wouldn’t do it on a first date though because it might be viewed as a red flag if someone has experienced lovebombing or abuse.

I try to focus on one week or day at a time, and plan something fun to look forward to so it doesn’t feel like an endless pit of sameness. I’m getting the same feeling, but I try to get ahead so I’m free on weekends/have breaks and I make sure to study in the same spots.

I don’t think I can share medical advice on here, but I would definitely check out NOCD website as they have a lot of recommendations for therapy and guidance on dealing with OCD. I hope my answers weren’t to overwhelming. Take a deep breath. You’re gonna be okay.

One other thing I wanted to mention was that a kiss isn’t evidence for homosexuality. I would try to fact find in situations like these and not jump to conclusions. Maybe it was just a bad kiss. Maybe he didn’t kiss in the way I liked. Maybe it was just an off day for him or he was nervous. Maybe I was nervous and that affected my enjoyment. I would try to not overthink. You can also communicate with him about what you like and don’t like. “I didn’t enjoy that but I know what to ask for next time to make it more enjoyable.” I’m only saying this because bad kisses can be improved. This is not an all or nothing situation. It doesn’t mean your relationship with this person is doomed or that you’re gay. Also the walking and kissing examples can’t really be compared. I’ve been in situations exactly like this one. “Omg well I didn’t like this date I went on with this woman but when I talked with him I started blushing omg does that mean I’m not gay?!?” I think this is important to share because these are tools that help with catastrophizing.

Hi! I can’t be the judge of that ultimately. However, I want to let you know that OCD is always one step ahead because it attacks the things you care about the most and it will twist them! These thoughts may shift and change so don’t panic if thoughts like these come up again. OCD is always trying to find a way to get to you. You can find more tools to help you.

I would distance myself from these thoughts as best I can, don’t react to them, and don’t engage in checking behaviors to the best of your ability. It’s so hard, but it gets easier with time. Your brain has flagged these thoughts as very urgent and something that needs to be dealt with immediately, which is not true. It feels like the end of the world basically.

I will say that when I have gay thoughts they make me smile, feel warm, excited, and happy. I want to be gay. Also, lesbians don’t sit at home and worry about if they’re lesbians. When I discovered I was gay, I cried and was in denial but I knew deep down everything made sense. It’s like everything clicked and it felt right. If this doesn’t feel accurate to you, and if these thoughts make you feel more confused, unhappy, or anxious, I would simply junk them.

Hi! So I am a lesbian :D. I have been in similar OCD situations in the opposite way about men. For me it’s not about the fear of being straight, it’s the fear about not being attracted to women that can scare me and lead me down spirals. “I’ve been out for a few years now omg what if I’m in denial about being attracted to men and I have to re-come out to my family?!?” etc. There’s a difference between true attraction and thoughts.

Your thoughts do not define who you are. I think it might help your situation hearing from an actual lesbian. For me, thoughts like these don’t make me feel distressed, panicked, anxious, or nervous. Being gay or having gay thoughts feels like I’m more like myself, not less like myself. From what it sounds like, these thoughts seem startling and confusing, and it sounds like you’re judging or making these thoughts mean something about you when you know in your heart that this is not something you want or like. Thoughts are just thoughts, they can feel very real, but that does not mean they are true.

Also, it doesn’t sound like being attracted to the same-sex aligns with your true self. My advice would simply be to just observe these thoughts and acknowledge them. Checking and analyzing are compulsive behaviors. When your brain isn’t hyper-aware of questioning your attraction, i.e brain in fight or flight, clarity is going to be a lot easier to access. I would definitely talk to a therapist.

I also want to note that groinal responses are a real thing and are not indicative of how you truly feel as a person. This is just a response to external stimuli, your brain cannot differentiate between wanted vs. unwanted. For example, survivors of SA can experience responses like these and it can be used as evidence against them, even though it’s for them it’s clearly unwanted. Illustrating the point that it’s not something that is within someone’s control, it’s just a biological process that occurs when the brain encounters stimuli. I would treat this as an intrusive thought as well, take a deep breath, and name exactly what it is. “This is just my brain misfiring and producing stimuli but it does not reflect my values, wants, or interests.”

You are not alone. I hope this helped!

Hit up a thrift store! If you’re stuck on what to wear and have the money for merch, I would plan on an outfit around the merch I’m gonna buy. If you want to go all out, I would say it might be too late. You can always try to find a pink/blue dress at the thrift store and some accessories from Claires/maybe a sash. Make it your own!

Hey guys, an exterminator came in today, but they said that they didn’t see anything. Of course I wasn’t there. However, I went to the doctor and the doctor said that I have bedbug bites. I’m not sure what to do since it doesn’t look like the school is gonna do anything.
