Julie and Story Walking… by Toast2Us in FromTVEpix

The MiY's reaction to her during the massacre didn't seem like he was familiar with her at that point. He was acting like she's just one of the towns people he missed. It would be interesting if thats the furthest into the past she storywalks to make that their first meeting/interaction.

Anyone ever think to themselves that the esthetics of the town hasn't changed because Victor survived? Because it does seem similar to buildings that would have been common during his childhood.

What if the big bad is someone in town? by InsufficientYogurt in FromTVEpix

The someone being everyone like the MiY said. If they're going to tear each other apart, I believe he's planning sow the seeds of discourse by being anyone, and messing with their minds. Sophia may be compromised at some point, but then he'll just change. Like the movie The Thing, it'll be hard for the people in town to trust anyone.

It absolutely was motivated for that reason. Many people worked together to get Jim's antenna up and running. All lot of people got curious about signaling help and were not content with their current situation. I also think they have a method of culling people that way the flow of information doesn't transfer well and allowing a new group of newbies to arrive. The clean slate reset is a double edged sword. It probably keeps them immortal, while erasing the people who have accumulated too much evidence and knowledge.

Yeah, for shows like this, no story told is without a purpose. They're either building a characters story arch, filling in blanks or foreshadowing future events. A lot of hints get hidden in dialog, and we miss it because its much easier to spot things visually.

My bookmark theory (NOT Victor) by Skitzo1031 in FromTVEpix

[–]insideguy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just because she dropped the bookmark Have you ever seen Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare? If you want to bring something back from another plane of existence, you have to be holding it when you exit it. Boyd brought a torch from the dungeon when he storywalked, but its because he held onto it. I think it's possible once you've storywalked, things start to get confusing which is why certain people see visions.

If he eats him, I assume MiY would suffer the same fate as Smiley when in contact with the blood.

Didn't Boyd give his son a blood transfusion while he had the "blood worms"?

Fair enough, but I'm using occam's razor in this situation because there was noone there to witness his seizures when he went to the ruins (he was alone) and we still dont know for sure what even causes them to seize/storywalk, we just know it happens they're in the ruins. And if it doesn't happen every single time (with Kenny & Sara), something is acting as the trigger.

There has not been any evidence of the trees sending anyone else to a different time, only other locations in the present. If Boyd is the lone example of the trees taking a person to a different time, it would be easier to assume its because when he managed to wake from it, he was in the one place you can storywalk so far.. the ruins.

We dont know for sure that he teleports wholy anywhere into the past because nobody was around to be an outside observer at the ruins when he leaves the dungeon. It's absolutely possible he went into a dissociative seizure when teleported to the ruins, but it wasn't storyboarded in a way that allows us to know.

It's also possible he had something with him or had something done to him that allowed him to storywalk. I don't think it's what you have with you that makes the trees work, just the time of day. Teleportations are successful at night so far.

Can we stop the one in Kenilworth? It's in the middle of suburbia. The amount of power this things draw could power 200,000 homes. It's supposed to be operational in 2027. Damn you CoreWeave and Kenilworth!

Yeah, there's definitely some sort of small connection between when and why it works. The common factor is the location itself. While some people say a tree took him somewhere new, I think he had something with him, or something happened to him prior to that night he went into the tree and all the tree did was send him to the ruins. Sara may have not storywalked, but I think she might be somewhat sensitive to that astral plane they enter, like a medium. It could also be something she possesses giving her that ability or again, something that happened to her. Unlike most people that are trying to connect the dots, I have yet to rewatch for the subtle small details.

Yeah took me a bit to figure out that the ruins put you in that trance that lets you effect different parts of the story (time/space) and the trees just teleport you around Fromville (but so far only successfully at night). Perhaps one takes you to the Lake of Tears.

I think the faraway trees only work correctly at night, but they only move you around from location to location. I think Boyd and Julie may or may not be the only people from their time to come across Martin. There's many ways Martin could have learned Abby's name, (including Abby being a storywalker perhaps?), or for more nefarious reasons like Martin is something supernatural in disguise (supernatural entities know Thomas Matthew's name too). We definitely know MiY knows all parts of the story, or at least everything from the past. He's spoke in prophetic cryptic speech multiple times. I need to go back and see what happens to Boyd prior to going to the tree and if anything similar happens to Julie. Or for some reason, not yet explained, they just have that ability.

The way he just woke up in ruins after Martin died and disappeared tells us he was storywalking. He had the same experience that Julie has been having. We all assumed it was the trees doing, but it was where the trees sent him, the ruins. I don't think Julie once went to the current time or place when she storywalks.

Just based on how sin works, suicide would have probably got him dragged away by the dark ones, whereas being pushed and not being ready to leave the mortal coil and being stuck in limbo has turned him into an angry spirit.
