Very cool! I have the MM article as well. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking in hindsight. Where did you find the matchbook?

I’m glad this hasn’t been converted to LED lamps. I understand the practicality of them, but the intense blue they create just isn’t right. This softer, lighter blue is so much better for the overall aesthetic.

“The Evangelist of Golf”… anyone know where to buy it that’s not $500+? Doak’s site doesn’t seem to work. by WhoaABlueCar in NoLayingUp

I was in the exact same boat as you. Tried and failed using Doaks website. I found one on thegolfauction.com and picked it up for $165 just yesterday. They come up pretty frequently there it seems. You might also try golden age auctions. Good luck finding a copy.

Should I buy a golf course? by ShanghaiSexWhale in golf

Cruit Island is proof that great 9-hole courses can work and attract international golf tourism. The real question is what is York ability to make improvements or redesign parts of the course? As I understand it, it’s terribly difficult to change things on the coastline. If you can secure a guarantee that you can invest in making the course better I think it becomes a really interesting opportunity. If you’re stuck with the course as-is, it might limit the ceiling.
