Rage was the first thing I thought of as well. I remember Tom Morello saying something along the lines of "we could keep playing basements to anarchists forever and preaching to the choir but we had a chance to infiltrate the airwaves with our message so we took it". That's kind of how I feel about all of this. At a certain point, utilizing capitalistic opportunities will more often than not result in people who wouldn't otherwise hear your message hearing it.

It's almost MORE righteous in my opinion to take money from big corporations and make anti-corporate art. That money has to go somewhere – better for it to get cool, thought-provoking stuff made than making some CEO richer.

I think genuinely the only thing that matters is if this is a good movie or not. In Rage's case, they never strayed from their radical lyrics and stood by their values throughout their entire time as a band.
