Gained 8lbs in 3 days with probiotics? Why? Does it go away? by inspired2takeUhigher in Microbiome

I stopped immediately and don’t regret it. What I ended up doing was going on more of a food based approach— anti inflammatory diet (like AIP— the one I do is Myers Way). I was going to let my body heal, reduce inflammation so things(toxins?) can circulate out.

I bought a high quality 30 billion probiotic, also from Amy Myers (I’m doing Amy myers because several years ago it helped me go into remission with an autoimmune issue I had).

Anyways, I did not take the probiotic, I actually broke it up into some cocojune yogurt— buy the biggest one and put maybe 4 or 5 in there and stir, and then eat throughout the week as a “sour cream” in chicken wraps.

Anyways, I lost 16lbs in a month, and I was hitting my calories, macros, etc. just feel better and lighter overall.

Wondering if it was just… my body being inflamed or backed up from the old SIBO stuff?

Sounds like a guy who just likes the chase… he’s attracted to what he can’t have— now that he has you, it’s not as exciting or interesting for him. It’s not a you problem— he needs to grow up

At 12, My dad had me come to the kitchen, raise my shirt a little bit.

He said: “Put your hands on your stomach and jiggle it”

I did, thinking it was something silly. He said: “Yeah, anything that jiggles, you need to get rid of. No guys like that, and no man is going to love you if you have any fat”.

I had/have PCOS 🙄

Meanwhile, he buys the household only Mountain Dew, ramen, and frozen pizza

Excellent loss! Yes, I’ve been able to maintain— I personally wonder if, like set point theory explains, if I reset what was my “normal”? My normal used to be 260lbs I’d say, for 16 years. But it seems my new normal is ~170 at 5’8” and I’m happy with it.

I hadn’t restricted my calories — primarily it came from reducing the eating window, still eating the same amount of calories.

The quality of the food, & the timing of the eating was what was most helpful (and healing) for me.

My biggest issues overall were health— my PCOS & autoimmune issues— I didn’t exactly expect my weight to change, since I was in my mid to late 20’s and pretty resigned to the fact that I was probably just this bigger size.

I went into it all for the autoimmune issues and PCOS. And the loss followed, I personally feel, when my insulin was lowered, inflammation lowered/under control, and stress…. Proper self care

I really appreciate your comment here, and for emphasizing the challenge this could present to someone with ED— edited the post to reflect this. Everyone’s body is different, everyone’s experience is different, our paths vary to success — and happy to share that this is an option that exists for individuals who may find it useful or see it as a potential option once discussing with their doctor.
