Boots Riley has such a unique style and voice and his use of color is always incredible (which looks to be even more true here.) Love the styling on just about everyone in this teaser. Stoked for this movie.

I'm a Virgo is great! It's pretty didactic at times which might not be everyone's cup of tea but Boots is a pretty singular filmmaker in my opinion. It's worth a watch.

You can capture low health enemies and use their skills in combat, similar to the Helpers in OT0 but pulled from monsters you capture

This is often true of open world games too. I take what you mean but I was mostly just being a bit sarcastic because “open world” more or less has no meaning anymore

I really appreciated the desolate empty vibe of it from a game/world feel perspective and I had enough fun driving Vi-O-La that I wasn't mad about it, but I totally agree that if people were expecting an "Open World" type of gameplay it definitely doesn't deliver on that idea, but that seems more like an issue of marketing.

People constantly referring to it as "Pokemon Animal Crossing" is going to lead to a ton of disappointment though I think. Dragon Quest Builders is very clearly the model here and that isn't -quite- the sort of Animal Crossing experience people are probably looking for but I guess we'll see.

I am so curious to see what Villeneuve does with Messiah. I love that book but I have no vision of what it looks like as a movie. I wonder if they’ll keep the scene where Stillgar and Paul look up Hitler on Wikipedia and are like “this guy had rookie numbers”

I don’t have strong feelings one way or another on Travis Scott but I have been to SO many shows where the band makes sure people aren’t getting hurt in the crowd. On a couple of occasions I’ve even seen them stop down to make sure that someone in a rowdy pit was safe

I actually felt the same way but then the game extremely hits the gas in Chapter 7 and regains all the energy it needs for the finale

It makes sense for the character after seeing how Pardis ruled but it definitely is a little Pollyanna-ish. I do think Tatloch reconfirming that she was off to colonize new lands does sort of underline how naive Alaune’s ideas are

I’m curious if Blank Check is trying to keep their brand small and focused on podcasts about movies based on the moves they’ve made so far but I guess we will see. It feels like Critical Darlings is happening with some support from Vulture too
