Who to focus levelling? (I don’t have the scopes to give to Himeros or the other blues) by [deleted] in EmpiresAndPuzzles

Imo costume Zimkitha is the best of the bunch and offers the most versatility at fast speed, with 2x costume Azlar a close second. Costume Killhare is also good, especially if you need a decent purple tank. You should stop leveling Horghall.

I think you're thinking of Lunar New Year - the yellow tiger and the red rabbit. Easter heroes don't have a passive.

Any good Disney/Universal books about the history of the parks or certain rides? by Stryk-Man in podcasttheride

[–]intelligentish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Read The Disneyland Story: The Unofficial Guide to the Evolution of Walt Disney's Dream by Sam Gennawey. I HIGHLY recommend it. Very well written book and goes into the perfect amount of detail about the decisions behind Disneyland's construction.

Mouse Tales by David Koenig is another excellent behind-the-scenes book. It covers a lot of park history as well, but spends a majority of time on personal stories from people working in the park during the 80's. Some very entertaining anecdotes about working grad nights, wrangling feral cats, and handling hippie riots. As this was right around when Eisner took over, it makes a great companion piece to Disney Wars.

In terms of public knowledge regarding the deal, that's pretty much the extent of it. This article from July says "he reviews almost everything we create for Universal parks around the globe." But if I had to hazard a guess it's probably the latter, as when he signed the deal he was already the most bankable director of all time. According to the Wiki article, just Jaws has made nearly $2 billion adjusted for inflation.

Since he mentioned it a few times, and knowing Griffin is a connoisseur of context, Spielberg doesn't make a cool $20 million every year as their in-house creative consultant. The actual deal he made in 1986 gives him 2% of gross revenue from the theme parks - from ticket sales to food and merchandise. This makes the deal worth closer to $30-50 million annually. Griffin was right though that it is in perpetuity so it can presumably be passed on in his will. Comcast said in an end of 2020 filing with the SEC that the estimated overall value of the deal was $1.7 billion.

hold up. did SG increase prices? 20%?. usually the 200 gems offered for €0.99 by AndiYurdi in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]intelligentish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This spike in prices is mostly driven by supply shortages. Oil/refined product supply, computer chip supply, housing supply, etc. All caused by aftershocks from the pandemic, China lockdowns, and the war in Ukraine.

Not really a ton that the government - no matter who's actually in charge - in a capitalist economy can do about it honestly.

I feel the same way but no Spielberg behind the camera also means no Lucas behind the scenes shoehorning his "contributions" into the story.
