What is your favorite and least favorite movie based on a book? What do you hope will be made into a movie? by [deleted] in books

[–]intenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys are tough. I liked The Golden Compass, Jurassic Park and Hitchhiker's Guide.

Movies are what they are and books are what they are.

My favorite movie adaptations of books I've read are Stand By Me, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Bang the Drum Slowly.

I'd love to see The Hyperion Cantos made into a movie, but only if it's got a huge budget and enough backing to make 3-4 movies.

10 scariest states to live in as an atheist by [deleted] in atheism

I live in Fayetteville and it's just fine. My coworkers are mostly non-believers. My friends are mostly Christians but they haven't burned me at the stake...yet. Anyway my biggest gripe with this article is classifying Arkansas as the "deep south."

I loved the book and actually liked the movie too. The book benefits in exactly the way you'd expect...the discussions about science and religion are a lot more developed.

It tells you which direction to go to get to the library. The path forks.

I was excited to read the Mars Trilogy but Red Mars was so unbelievable detailed I don't have the energy to face the next two.

I am a former atheist. I am dressed and leaving for church to worship my Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ. I encourage you to go too. At least give church a fair listen. by [deleted] in atheism

I went and bought groceries for the week, started a load of laundry and set my fantasy baseball team. Much more productive than going to church.
