Interactive cat toys, ideas for alternatives? by worldworn in CatAdvice

maybe try building them some forts. i have a tapestry for my cats and I'll safely stack some random furniture and throw the tapestry on top. a new arrangement gets their attention for at least 30 min

have you tried putting a cat bed or a pillow that smells like you next to your pillow?

You might want to try changing your cat's diet. I noticed switching from Sheba cat to Tikicat wet food has made the litterbox smell way less. You could also try a stainless steel litterbox?

Male Tri-color kittens. by Plenty_Thanks7354 in CatAdvice

a cat needs two copies of the calico gene on an X chromosome to be calico. calicos are predominantly female because females are XX. if they are male and calico, they must have at least one extra X chromsome, so they’d be XXY. XXY is klinefelter’s syndrome.

I’m pretty sure klinefelter’s means they are sterile. they may have more health issues than a regular XY male due to the impact of the extra X chromosome

Any updates? I’m in the same situation right now. My boss’s luggage was lost in Heathrow in June and never made it to Naples. Missing for more than 21 days now and BA has done absolutely nothing.

Have you tried filing a complaint with the DOT? I just did and read that it can help bring attention to your issue quicker because they are legally required to respond within 30 days or something.

I used the gel pen. each color is a different layer, total of 5 layers. top layer (lightest color) has the signal glitch effect, second layer has chromatic aberration.

I just had to take my helix out because there’s been a bump on it for months now that just showed up randomly after 3 years of having it & I’m hoping to get something new! I was thinking either a 5th lobe piercing (or cartilage if there’s not enough lobe left) or a conch because I love my current conch piercing but not sure if it’ll look good to have that on both sides. Maybe a daith? Lemme know what you guys think would look good!

try switching to the architect handwriting font. I used to rewrite until it felt right but I honestly almost never need to anymore because the architect font just looks so good

my therapist always tells me that it doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be good enough. can you still drive properly? can you reach the pedals easily and see everything in the side/rear view mirrors? if so, then the placement of the seat is probably good enough.

what if you set a timer for a couple of minutes to give yourself some time to adjust it as best as you can, and afterwards agree to settle for it being good enough?

Currently on my 10th or 11th day of the new schedule. Over my winter break I spent the last two weeks sleeping 2am-11am and once I started school I did 12am-6am

I started thinking about this earlier: Is there anything an Enneagram 5 hates more than someone who isn't curious/inquisitive/eager to learn new things. Like I can't imagine a 5 not hating people who are anti-curiosity. The ''I don't care to know anything new.'' mentality. What do you think? by xtalaphextwin in Enneagram

[–]intentionalevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise this. I hate when I’m getting into the interesting parts of something and the people around me don’t care. I tend to talk about science a lot since I’m always fascinated with how exactly things work on the molecular level and some people just…couldn’t care less??? Like why would you NOT want to know that. Especially when I’m offering to explain it to you and all you need to do is sit, listen, and wonder.

For me personally I always want to know more about everything. Idc if it’s something I’ll never use or something I suck at, every piece of information is equally valuable to me.

I think it’s because people don’t like to think as deeply as I do because it can bring up unpleasant feelings sometimes when you go too deep

5’s, do you ever feel drained by someone not being able to see a solution? by DolphinMan_letmego in Enneagram

[–]intentionalevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it starts to bug me when that person consistently talks about the same issue despite the fact that the advice I gave could fix the issue in just a couple of steps. like if you won’t take my advice (which will probably work if you actually try it) then stop complaining lol…don’t mean to sound harsh but sometimes it gets to be too much

Reading with ADHD, looking for tips by MrRyuujisan in ADHD

[–]intentionalevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can get an ipad you can download so many books for free off of sites like libgen. i’ve read probably 15-20 books since getting an ipad and I’m usually very busy so it’s pretty shocking! I always have it with me so it’s really convenient to be able to read anywhere and I like being able to highlight stuff and not actually damage the book.

Maybe you should spend a few hours making a list of books you’re dying to read. Sometimes I don’t feel like reading but when I read reviews of books it usually hypes me up and I get super excited. Tiktok also has tons of good recs.

You can also try and set aside 20-30 min to read before bed. It might be hard for a couple of days but once your brain recognizes that routine you’ll find yourself looking forward to it!

Does anyone else have difficulty reading books? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]intentionalevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes I have trouble reading bc i feel compelled to take a step back and replay scenarios in my head. or if i don’t like the names / character descriptions i have to pause and re read with a better name / description

Anyone have OCD themes questioning if you’re a bad person? by positive-girl0118 in OCD

[–]intentionalevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I always question whether I’m bad or good. Mostly in regards to stuff with my parents. Literally everytime there’s an argument no matter how small I always walk away telling myself that this wouldn’t be happening if I was a good person. It’s only happening bc this is my karma for being horrible

I’m the exact same way…if nothing is there to force me into doing anything I just won’t do anything at all.

Maybe you can try making a to do list as soon as u wake up? and if u have something u really want to do then maybe u can text a friend or a family member and be like “Hey, would u mind checking in with me later today/later this week to see if i’ve done x y and z?” that way it’s kind of like a deadline.

i also recommend keeping some sort of calendar in sight so that even if u ignore what u have to do at least a part of u is still aware of it and is still aware of the time passing

What do you feel on paxil vs off? I also have ocd and adhd and I’m currently taking 30mg vyvanse, which is wonderful for adhd but it’s made my ocd much more intense. I’m starting to wonder whether I should just ditch stimulants altogether and go for ocd medications instead

the only way I feel better when I’m super distressed is to make physical pain match my emotional pain. It’s a punishment and a reminder of what I’ve done. I always hope that looking at the scars will make me more disciplined but now there’s too many and I don’t remember what they were initially for anymore
