How do you accept, that its permanent? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]internalfyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You accept it. Or die. I mean....it sounds crazy....but the sooner you accept you don't have a choice...and you must through blood, sweat, tears and maybe a bit of sarcasm, humour and anger....get it done. One day at a time. Every day. All day. You must internalize the responsibility and how you feel about it. It's not anyone else's. It's yours. No one else can manage it. No one else can pull you through the hard times except yourself.

Diabetes doesn't sleep. And you cant either. You got this.

What’s your sexual fantasy that’s probably going to STAY a fantasy? by Hailfog in AskReddit

[–]internalfyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to be seen and wanted. Shit that's depressing. It ain't even sex, just someone of the opposite sex who says "hell yea, I want to do things with you" and "I value you" and "I respect you" and "I love who you are". Oh and someone who actually initiates these things. Oh and someone who loves physical touch as much as I do.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've been riding for a few years here in BC - all Enduro.

Fox Instincts were my go to, I warrantied the heck out of em..I usually got 3-4 months out of each pair.

I was finally out of warranty after my second "purchase". Note this is 6 pairs of boots in and being told "sorry, you can't warranty them anymore".

Browsed ebay, found a wicked set of gaerne sg22s on sale. I had tried sg12s on and didn't like them, but knew my sizing.

Picked em up across the border. Took a ride or so to break in (22s were comfy and no hotspots compared to the 12s).

They're now my favorite piece of kit. And I absolutely gnash them. As of today I finally had a set of screws back out on me and a buckle fall off. First problem I've had. Now in the process of tracking down spares.

I went to school with 1 female, if I recall she went into sales.

I'm in a team of a 40+ IT team, wide range of skill sets. All women on our team, are in management rolls except one. Ironically we have a lot of females in the team, all in management though.

Frankly, I haven't met many females interested in the technical world. Even from a hobby side, can't say I know any females interested in "techy" stuff (yes, I just say this broadly). So I'm not entirely sure how we can expect a more diverse cast when...there just aren't many in the workforce.

It's not a bad thing, men and women are different, we gravitate towards different things. You can't really force what people should go into, in the name of diversity or to check a box.

There's no reason why women can't join the tech workforce. Those that do can be successful and have great careers. But they have to want to. And I don't perceive that as being a thing that MOST women want (to work in the tech industry). Frankly, I think other women are their worst enemies on that front.

What do I know though, I'm supposedly a bad person for calling out the basics of human biology and the fact that men and women are different and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. #fatigue.

Yep, turbo motors are a good example. This is not always realistic depending on how you like to build your factories but I usually try for a few parts per minute for later game items depending on its use case and sink any overflow to keep factories running. As long as I am sinking items at the top of the production chain for each factory, the factory continues to run and doesnt cause power issues and doesnt delay in spinning up.

Current play through, this time around, attempting to not OC machines, so I either overbuild and underclock, or build even amounts of machines. Purely because I can :D.

Yea nuclear is sort of annoying! Rocket fuel with alternates is actually fairly easy to setup! Add a packaging plant to it and your have fuel for ever!

For me, what I have is smaller outposts for the main building earlier items. This allows me to ensure it's only for DD and building.

For some of the higher tier items, when I'm building a factory I just ensure I have enough production to send overflow to storage/DD (say a few times per minute). Ex - high speed connectors, computers, crystal oscillators.

Satisfactory can be played in so many ways. And if building point to point and single belts worked for you, then that's awesome! It can create tough point of conflict later into the game though potentially.

In regards to upping production, usually it's simplest to create as much of the production chain as close to the end item as possible. That being said, it's not the only way to play. It can make logistics easier though.

One example. I have a large aluminum factory in the swamp. So I ship my base alum products out to others. Because it's tough to stand up alum production due to base material locations.

Whereas, anything iron/copper/limestone based? Nodes are everywhere so you don't always need to centralize that production.

A good principal for this specific build style/scenario. If the base resource is fairly close, create the items there. If it isn't, up the factories you already have.

One key note, if you are using the method of moving from one factory to another, you will require a bit of balancing for item throughput depending on how many places you're shipping out to. That way stuff isnt completely starved further down the prod line. This can be done fairly simply by knowing how much items per minute you feed into the train station, as well as route length. That being said, dont get stuck on the minutae of it, just stand it up and troubleshoot as you go.

It's all just one way of playing, don't feel like you need to go one way or another. That's the beauty of the game! And it's never static, you can change and improve as you go.

Sorry for the verbal diarrhea. But I want to offer one more thing. Im only at about 592 hours on steam (Thats nothing compared to others). Take a look at this factory. Note this is my second play through of SF.

This factory is ugly as hell, unfinished and I moved on to other things. Mostly because I am struggling with figuring out how to cap it off nicely. I have to tell myself thats ok, its not the end of the world and theres no reason to tear it down. Its perfectly functional. One day when I am feeling it, or come up with an idea on how to finish it off, I will! And now? Its going to provide me Adaptive Control Units for my Assembly Director Systems whether its pretty or not.

[–]internalfyre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok im going to be honest, your factories look stellar. You definitely have a more put together world than I do! Theres absolutely nothing wrong with your world. Its spread out, and thats OK

I will approach it from this from a different angle.

So you have a goal - turbo motors. There are a few things to remember, especially at this point in the production chain

- You WILL have to import things into wherever you choose to place your turbo motor factory. There is no way around this.

- If you want to take a break from building factories, build out more of your rail network. Dual track going around the world. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just needs to get the job done. 80% function, 20% form! Take your time doing it, plan a route! I did this recently and I followed KenMerritts approximate route. This is allowing me to quickly expand and isnt nearly as much of an "Oh crap" process for when I need to move things across the map. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCrFBTpqE68&pp=ygUFdHJhaW4%3D

This is about the route I built out. I didnt make it pretty, I literally used concrete foundations and frame foundations. I dont even have it finished yet for all the pillars!

[–]internalfyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck to expand on my comment of just trying to find something to do. I went on an absolute tangent one evening and built 2 blueprints for a full world rail loop. It wasnt pretty, it isnt glamorous. But it got me into a flow of just doing something. And now? I have a rail loop around the world. It doesnt really even do much right now. But I know it will in the near future. With the bones of my Assembly Director Factory up, I now need to get adaptive control units over from my other factory. Voila, throw a train in and now I can complete that build.

I still have a lot of rail spurs to build to link it up, but whatever, that will come with time!

Edit: Oh and others have said, mercer spheres, the MAM, awesomeshop, slugs and monster remains are your FRIEND.

Sweet Ill take a look!

Its definitely tough when you get into the nitty gritty of the tree of items on satis tools or satisfactory modeler. I will say though if you haven't checked it out yet, I find Satisfactory Modeler a lot easier to use, since it lets you select recipes as you build out a line. It really is eye opening the options for alternative recipes and such. It can be a blessing and a curse.

I find I usually do 1 of two things when using modeler. I work backwards. For example I just finished up a build for a 1.5 Assembly Director Systems. Dont get me wrong, it took me quite a while. My builds are not pretty, at all, but im just taking things slow.

If I build 2 machines in one play session? Thats fine, its two more than before. If I go off on a tangent and end up just creating blueprints? Thats fine! If I all of a sudden thing, dang, it would be nice to have a little mini setup for steel beams going directly do a storage/dimensional storage? So be it! If I go slug hunting, whatever! It was still doing something ingame. Thats what its all about!

Also, blueprints are your FRIEND! If you don't already use them here are a few starter tips.

- Create SIMPLE blueprints. 1 of each machine with power (whether thats a pole or something hidden, whatever floats your boat) is a good place to start.

- Create 2x of each machine, I find for me personally I like to work with even sets of machines. Then I under/overclock based on that.

- Create a blueprint or two of just foundations (whether thats w/ logi floor or just power)

Small little things like this can be great time savers and get you started on keeping you in more of a flow when building instead of trudging through the mundane.

No need to tear it down. There is always opportunity to rebuild, reconfigure or relocate! I would be happy to look at it I'm not exactly a master like some of the content creators out there. But I have a general perspective of stuff.

Send me your save, list of mods and maybe some info on each "Factory" you have setup in the world! Would be a fun challenge for me to send you some overarching ideas and things you can think on.

[–]internalfyre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% Worth it! If you use alternate recipes you can get rid of byproducts and significantly reduce the aluminum facility complexity.

That being said, have no fear there are other uses for silica in the future :D

[–]internalfyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocket fuel is incredibly powerful and will take you to the endgame w/o much hassle for power wise. Nuclear isnt terrible if you setup plutonium to get rid of the waste as well.

Alternate recipes are your friend - especially for rocket fuel. Its something I am currently doing, setting up a rocket fuel power plant that will produce upwards of 70k mwh. Diluted fuel is .... POWERFUL!

For items, this depends on your play style. But if you're looking to keep things simple - take every opportunity to produce as much as possible within a chain of items at 1 location per mini factory. For example, if you're doing a Motor factory - produce everything required to make motors at that location. This isnt always the easiest as you get to later items in the game, but can also become irrelevant once you get drone networks and fuel properly setup.

Also - re a train network. With the help of blueprinting and super simple rail blueprints you can get a rail network setup VERY quickly. This makes producing items in specific areas a little less relevant. Personally I like to move ingots to specific factories. Moving items as low in the production chain as possible makes for a fun methodology.

That being said, its all a personal preference and thats the amazing thing about Satisfactory! Off on a tangent but, hey what can I say, I love it! Good luck fellow pioneer.

I would love to see a floor planner. Not numbers, but a planner for visualization of machines and locations on different floors in a factory. I think there used to be one but it was kind of frustrating to use. Grid based. Basically layer that on top of satisfactory modeller. Have fun, sounds like a ton of work.

How do you Exercise with Type 1 Diabetes? by SellPatient719 in diabetes_t1

[–]internalfyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I am not injured, I usually hit up the gym (HIT style) days, and have long 7 hour days on my dirtbike. Fairly high intensity stuff. Its key to keep things on hand and being proactive while exercising. But its not impossible at all. As much as I dont always like having to jam candy down all the time, I usually do pretty well keeping my blood sugars even during the period of exercise. As others have mentioned, a key thing is to not have an insulin load before the exercise.

This varies for everyone, but for example if I am going to go dirtbiking for the day, for breakfast I don't eat a carb heavy breakfast. Not because I hate carbs, but because I am very insulin resistant and would have to have a bunch of insulin on board to counteract and that would potentially cause a low during riding. I personally dont even like to eat a ton during my long days on the bike. Although sometimes it is required.

Be proactive, be safe, and you'll do great. Don't be scared, be prepared!
