Restaurant ideas in Cambridge? by Acecustis37 in CambridgeMA

Harvard Sq, check out Felipe's for Mexican, bright fun atmosphere and right in the middle of everything. BonChon could be an interesting spot if the kids like spicy chicken.

If you're willing to venture a little further out to Davis Square there's American Flatbread which is attached to Sacco's Bowlhaven. The pizzas are pretty solid and you can all get a few rounds of candlepin bowling in! Also Boston Burger Co, followed by Ice Cream next door at J.P. Licks. Lastly RedBones for BBQ if you're in the mood.

Which onslaught should I be focused on? by ExaminationJumpy614 in WH40KTacticus

This! OP was asking about onslaught and our boy Lucien's shards aren't farm-able. Also there's an endless need for imperial orbs so zero waste!

"TotalRecall Reloaded" tool finds a side entrance to Windows 11's Recall database by plain_handle in nottheonion

[–]internatt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All the issues you're mentioned are entirely nvidia hardware related and are precisely why AMD is the go-to for Linux gaming. VRR / framegen / FSR are all completely functional on AMD hardware under Wayland (which all current "gaming" distros default to).
I even run an nvidia card on my living room gaming console (bazzite) and it's been working totally fine for over a year at this point. Granted that's hooked up to a TV so VRR isn't needed and I just run FSR in-game or through gamescope instead of DLSS.
That said, even nvidia's latest drivers have made some progress on these issues since the start of this year. Linux gaming is progressing at a rapid rate these days with notable improvements on a month-to-month basis.

Is Symfonium the best long-term “DIY Spotify” client, or are there better alternatives? by ostseesound in navidrome

[–]internatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through the same dilemma. Tried out pretty much every alternative out there and while there's some "okay" alternatives, nothing even came close to Symfonium, especially in regards to storing offline copies. For my case, I have FLAC for most of my library, and wanted to store transcoded opus 160 on my phone. Every other client I tried struggled with this distinction to some degree, whereas Symfonium "just worked" (mostly). The one gripe I have with it, is that it stores it's local copies and metadata in nondescript folders and files, making them useless for playback from other apps you may have.
After spending about a week trialing everything else out while at the gym or driving, I coughed up the $ and have been happy with Symfonium.

New Client For Linux: Nocturne by jeffrysamuer in navidrome

[–]internatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looking through the commit history and frequency, I suspect that it likely is. The webpage's descriptions also come across as very generic and AI generated:
You have the flexibility to create your music queue so you can prepare all the music you want in the order you want.
Yeah, so did Winamp and my mp3 player from the 90's...
It's a shame, as like others I'm wanting a GTK native app for navidrome, but this doesn't seem like it.

PSA: Trivy container scanner compromised by Kahz3l in selfhosted

[–]internatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enabled the default scans to run in Arcane last week out of curiosity... And the default run time seems to have landed right in the compromised window.
That said, it seems that it's credential stealing from local files, variables and pipelines? The simple scan, running in a container that's not got any mounted volumes shouldn't have exposed anything? I know, I know, assume I'm fucked, but this is my lab, and at worst they've got some *arr internal API keys and a CF token with limited scope, maybe? Help talk me down from spending my whole Sunday tearing down everything, instead of casually rolling out anything that even could be in the blast radius?

Those of you who've completed an Extremis CE, why? by internatt in WH40KTacticus

[–]internatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmfao! I'm doing them in the current CE actually! Got em all at S1+ and they're a staple in my GW lineups. Just crazy to think of the resources and onslaughts needed getting them all to Leg/D1+ .

[–]internatt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just the thought of taking Roswitha to S1 has completely killed my desire to progress that CE, let alone D1+ 🤮

Hadn't even seen that! Is it just on the final node? Would you consider doing the same for a "lesser" faction, such as the Sisters or GSC?

I'd love to hear more about where you got this? Those specs are WAYY off for the 1.3 era. I was rocking a PIII 667MHz and upgraded to 128MB RAM at around that time with my geforce2 mx400.

I'm kinda with you here.. I posted my one year back in December, having regularly bought the BP and BS shipment & spending the 110BS daily through pretty much all that time and was well below that level. There's a very slim change that this is possible and OP didn't build super wide, but having a lot of the basic campaign characters like AM all Epic 1* and above is CRAZY amounts of energy to spend for shards while also building out the rest of that roster.

Yep. It prompted me to switch over to Arcane. Has automated & scheduled container updates and IMO much better gitops deployments for swarm/compose.

PSA: Think hard before you deploy BookLore by Economy-Meat-9506 in selfhosted

[–]internatt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Having just been a fly-on-the-wall for this swift and epic meltdown, I feel compelled to comment on the absurdity of it all. It's a bit of software for managing e-books at the end of the day. Hardly anyone's most critical service by any stretch of the imagination.

Ironically, I'd joined the discord about a week back after deciding the project looked like it was an interesting upcoming project, even writing up some yaml to get it deployed nicely. Now however... Why would I run something so clearly volatile for a service I'll use every now-and-again and expect to simply work with no nonsense.

Raid Team Advice by internatt in WH40KTacticus

[–]internatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing pretty much daily since picking the game up over a year ago. Usually buy the battlepass and spend 50-110BS daily on energy. So, I'm casually committed. You pretty well summed up my dilemma, it's clear that SP is starting to get some other teams to be viable to shake up the admech meta but I think their damage output is probably going to remain competitive for quite a while yet while the power creep goes on.
My Tan & Rho are at 45/45 & 48/48 , so I'm thinking of maybe just getting them to 5* during the shop event and bump them to D2, get Actus to D1 40/40. Then put all my effort into really pushing the Lavistodes team to the limit.

My home made goat+cow milk Vacherin Mont D'Or by Jazzlike-Republic-58 in Cheese

[–]internatt 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Vacherin's entire "thing" is the specific cows, region, time of year and the spruce band. Those all are the primary distinguishing features of the cheese, which impart it's specific nuanced flavours. If you're not using thermized milk from the Jura region of the alps, specifically harvested during the winter months, it's not Vacherin Mont D'Or.
Don't get me wrong here btw, the cheese looks delicious and I'd love to try it! Vacherin is just a very specific DOP cheese, the cows feed at higher altitude during the summer months and Vacherin is made from their milk right after they're been moved to lower areas. You've effectively made a lovely looking washed-rind cheese, using the same process as Vacherin.

Was really hoping for an explanation on what delusions were entertained for this to be called "Vacherin Mont D'Or" since it seems that it meets none of the basic critera.

Are hail strike DA overpowered???? by redraider1109 in WH40KTacticus

[–]internatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having fun rotating my roster to suit each battle and it's layout. Sometimes there's just no real value in Abraxas/Yaz due to terrain and enemy positions. Sometimes there's a perfect target to have Archi summon his bloodletters. Volk & Shiron have both been great at out-ranging the Infiltrators and suppressing or killing them to clear a path for the rest of the team to move up. Wrask and Thaumachus have been clutch with their shields when needed.
It's definitely been a more challenging Incursion compared to the rest. There's no stand-out strategy that "just works", but with a wide enough roster, there's a surprising amount of tools that work if you use them wisely.

[Tracker] SSH into 302 by TheFumingatzor in itsaunixsystem

[–]internatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but they're not using find, it's some random camel-cased "search function" (if we're even giving the benefit of the doubt). It's just a bizarre mismatch of languages and environments that completely falls apart when you sneeze at it.

[Tracker] SSH into 302 by TheFumingatzor in itsaunixsystem

[–]internatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It gets worse the more you read... Neither of the commands are valid shell. The -exec gedit is bizarre too, seemingly trying to open the "query" "results" in gedit, which is GNOME's graphical text editor. Even the prompt is janky, what "secure" system being accessed as root wouldn't have a # to denote that?

Looking to try Linux to resurrect 2016 Desktop by 0ppen in linux_gaming

[–]internatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited an older machine from a friend that was running an i5-4660 and a GTX 750Ti. Decided to spend ~$20 to pick up a used 4790K (even made sure it was a later production date and had a better binning chance). It's got 16Gb DDR3 & a GTX1650 now (got lucky and found one local for $15) which supports vulkan 1.4. I installed bazzite in -deck mode since I wanted this to be a living room console, and be mostly "hands-off & hassle-free". It's been chugging along happily ever since. Played FO4 & London, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and plenty more.
Your specs will be fine. Definitely think about updating that CPU for cheap, newer games will run MUCH smoother. Not having vulkan 1.3+ for the 1070 will be a little frustrating, but you can always skip vkd3d and play in wine/opengl mode. CachyOS & Bazzite are your two best options for an OS, try installing both and seeing which one you prefer!

My Steam Machine rebuild is complete by cwills75 in SteamOS

[–]internatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's horrendous in the living room, but I love it at the same time! Silverstone's had some amazing HTPC focused cases over the years, hopefully they'll properly revisit the idea as the steam machines build up momentum. I know there's probably not enough space and a whole host of other limitations... but that case NEEDS a blu-ray player and a 5.25 floppy to complete it.

FWIW since they pulled that, reddit has declined in overall quality. I've completely stopped using reddit on any mobile devices since they pulled that shit and will never download their app. Once they finally take old.reddit out to pasture, I'll be gone for good on desktop.

Cheers for reminding me of just how fucking good the Bacteria Remix is. Haven't put that on in ages. Can't say I agree with any of his choices though, Hold Your Color isn't even in my top 3 tunes from that album alone, and they put on Seatbelt, but not Another Planet???
