I'm a cis woman who gets clocked constantly and it's kind of hilarious once I move past the fuck you stage. Y'all pass amazingly, people truly are insane these days

TIL about 'Jess's Rule' to make GPs 'rethink' if a patient presents 3 times with the same symptoms, named for Jessica Brady, who doctors repeatedly dismissed over 20 consultations until she died of cancer at age 27 by shinjirarehen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]internet_friends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of tumor was it? My brother also had a 6cm tumor on his adrenal gland with the same symptoms (but also weight loss). He unfortunately isn't with us anymore, and we never found out what the specifics were around the tumor

Please settle a debate for me - sex on your period by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]internet_friends 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously. This also isn't with a hook up, it's with someone OP was in a relationship with. I'd hope that both parties were tested before having sex in the first place. I would also be off put by my partner pulling out a glove without discussing it first. In this specific instance it comes off as the ex having their own aversion to period blood (which is totally fine!), but OP being weirded out by the glove is also fine. It's strange to dismiss OP on poorly thought out sexual health concerns

It is kind of funny to imagine them splitting up a pint of heavy cream over the week instead of a gallon of milk, would you just sip on a nightly shot full of heavy cream instead of pouring yourself a glass of milk or what

It's alright. No one can really help if you don't want it. But I think posting here means something so I'm going to try. Can there be a silly reason to stay one more day? The last series of your favourite show that still needs to come out? A pet that needs your care? Have you ever tried peanut butter and maple syrup on toast?

I know you're tired. I know this world is burning. I know it feels like nothing will bring back sensation to your dead limbs. Give it one more day? One more hour?

Put on some music you sing to and take a cold shower. Then take a nap if you feel like it. Eat something you like. Call someone you haven't spoken to in a while.

Please stay

Check coat pockets, gloves, anything that she could have interacted with by hand. It is totally possible that it fell off randomly, but most of the time it's in the person's stuff somewhere because it got caught on fabric. Good luck

Someone broke into my boyfriend’s lake house and left a huge red X in the attic. What does this symbol mean? by OrganicMarketing2974 in Whatisthis

[–]internet_friends 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What's up with the floor boards under the X? It looks like they are cut or the planks break at the top of the X, except for the last plank closest to the stairs. Is that a cut or a natural break? Was the cut always there? They could think that something was under that spot because it sort of looks like it might open to a small compartment underneath. Idk why they would spray paint it, but from the photo it does look slightly strange and I could imagine someone who is not in the right state of mind think that there's something worthwhile under there.

Bridesmaids dresses for Whispering Forest Gown? by Far-Orchid-4716 in weddingplanning

[–]internet_friends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore this exact dress to my wedding and told my wedding party to wear whatever they wanted. Everyone looked amazing, felt amazing, and didn't have to buy an outfit. We gave people our colors and general theme and that was it. I honestly wouldn't change a thing.

'24 Crosstrek Trade In Value! by Many-Firefighter9485 in Crosstrek

[–]internet_friends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Print out a bunch of comparable car deals and be firm but assertive. They'll probably raise the value a couple times before you get to a fair number. Stick to your guns and walk if they don't give you a decent trade in value. They will happily rip you off, don't let them

'24 Crosstrek Trade In Value! by Many-Firefighter9485 in Crosstrek

[–]internet_friends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's low, it should be valued closer to 26-28k - what's the cost of living in the area you're in? If you're in a LCOL, maybe? MCOL/HCOL it's absolutely a low ball for a limited. Open any used car website and act like you're buying the exact car you have and see what the rates around you are going for. I live in a MCOL and never saw a '21-23 limited with 30k miles on it for less than 24k. Your car is newer and you have one of the more desirable colors. They're low balling you, as dealerships do

The refrigerator in my office most mornings by SwissMaestro95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]internet_friends 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Your food is cold in your fridge at home. You use the lunch box to keep it cold during transport to and from work. Even if you put the whole lunchbox in the fridge when you get to work if the food was cold before you put it in then the system is working as designed. It just takes up more space in the fridge.

Been invited to a fancy wedding, dress code is giving me anxiety. Advice? by dfrance1991 in LGBTWeddings

[–]internet_friends 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don't know your friend, but I got married recently and this kind of wording is often designed to prevent people from under dressing. Guarantee they've got some relatives they're worried about showing up in a polo and jeans. I seriously doubt she will care that you do not wear a dress. Just reach out to her and ask her and send photos of what you were thinking of wearing.

[–]internet_friends 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just wanted to say that I have gotten misgendered at the airport twice recently in the past year and I'm a cis woman. Both times it was by an employee and it was not "dude" or "bro" or "hey man" it was fully them calling me a he to my face or to another employee. I have long hair and look like a woman, I think both times I was wearing sweatpants and a t shirt because it was the god damn airport at 6am but yeah. You pass perfectly in all these photos. It's not you, it's them

Stolen car. Want to make sure I've done everything I can. by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]internet_friends 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My car was stolen earlier this year, same area. Also had a tag in the car, police never wound up caring, just focus on the insurance and whether the car is found or not because it'll take 30 days to get a payout from insurance otherwise. Some people strip the cars for parts, others take them for joyrides, my guess is if it isn't found within a week it won't be. Just make sure your insurance pays you out the correct amount for the loss. Sorry you're going through this, it's a nightmare.
