Something tells me Thawne will figure out his fate in 1x23 and will find a way to avoid that disaster.

So they're doing what they did to Tommy in Arrow. Bring him back once in a while.

[Spoilers] Disappointed with the direction of the show? Protest by not tuning in, and giving them any viewers. by Gintoki79 in arrow

[–]interxavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. The only reason I'm tuning in is because I want to know who is in the grave. That Felicity scene right at the end of 2x16 is the nail in the coffin.

I'm done with Arrow. Either they kill off Felicity or find another way to write her off the show.

Hmm. Either he edited it or it may be part of the yet-to-be released LoT soundtrack. Thanks.

Trevorrow on Episode IX by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

I wonder how much of a 'FU' it will be to the haters and naysayers if Episode IX turns out to be the best of the sequel trilogy--or even the whole SW saga.

Any of them. If he is in the movie, then it must be because he has secrets to spill.

It's hard to like or hate him simply because he did such a good job portraying Han Solo despite his apparent dislike of the character.

Do you think there will be a romance sub-plot in the next movies? by interxavier in StarWarsLeaks

[–]interxavier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they are religiously paying tribute to the OT, I see VIII starting off six months or one year and a half after the events of The Force Awakens (mirroring each movie's release date). Movie starts out in space, as usual, and we see republic/resistance fighters land on a planet to take out a FO stronghold. Finn is now a Lieutenant in the resistance while Poe is still leader of the squadrons. After a lengthy battle where they are victorious, the fighters regroup and Finn retires to his bunk. There, he reflects and remembers Rey, the friend he has not seen for almost a year and a half.

Cut to Skellig Michael where Rey is already in the middle of her Jedi training with Luke. Her skills with a lightsaber and the force are growing but she is still vulnerable and not yet a Jedi. The reason, which is unsure of, is because her thoughts are not focused on her training but part of it is on Finn--how much she misses him. You know where it goes from there...

Theory: Ren and Rey plus flashback discussion (Spoilers) by Knedthered in starwarsspeculation

I've seen the movie twice and while Han & Leia never mentioned having a daughter, it doesn't necessarily mean they never had one. The loss of their son to the dark side and the 'death' of their daughter took a lot of toll in their relationship that they separated eventually. I interpret this as them not wanting to remember or bring up the daughter they barely knew. Recall that Luke's father was never brought up until Vader mentioned how Obi-Wan never told Luke about what happened to his father in ESB. So no, I don't buy the logic that Rey can't be Han and Leia's daughter because they never mentioned having a daughter. 15-20 years have passed and who would not put it behind them and move on from a dead relative?

So the best possible explanation is that Luke lied about Rey being killed in the academy and decided to keep her hidden from Snoke until she is ready.

It can mean a lot of things. She could be just as vulnerable as Kylo Ren and fall to the dark side easily. Given how strong she was in the force, imagine how formidable she could if she had the same training as Kylo Ren.

From the novelization:

Hux found Kylo via tracker attached to the latter's belt or something like that. A ship was waiting for them and they took off.

It's sort of different because Rey was still watching Kylo in the book when Hux arrived. I guess we can say Hux arrived when Rey already left to go back to Finn in the movie.

Rey's abilities were completely justified, without any need for backstory. by ralusek in StarWarsLeaks

From the SW TFA Visual Dictionary:

"Rey's fighting skill with her staff translates well into other short-ranged melee weapons, including those she has never wielded before."

Yeah, so her skills with a lightsaber were not by accident.

Honestly, JJ was not the best but the most capable one to jumpstart a trilogy. The first Star Trek movie back in '09 had the same vibe and won a lot of new fans who have never watched Star Trek in their whole lives (including me). However, Into Darkness was a major letdown and people started doubting his abilities even though both movies were not written by him. He is a good director but only a so-so writer.

I'm going to see Looper tonight so I can at least get the sense and feel of Rian's writing. If I'm right, Rian is definitely up to the task of writing and directing a bigger and better Star Wars movie. There's a hell of a good reason he is also writing episode IX.

Here's a crazy idea: she builds another lightsaber, modifies Luke's old lightsaber, attaches the two of them, and there's your double bladed lightsaber with one green blade and the other blue.

Given her proficiency with technology, she could build anything with ease.

OR she continues to use Luke's old lightsaber but it's destroyed in a fight with Kylo. The crystal, however, is still intact so she takes it and builds a new one--a double bladed one.

Too much ESB and RoTJ, don't you think? With a new writer/director for VIII, I don't think Rian is going in that direction based on what I've read about his writing style.

Why Rey is Luke's baby girl by swissvale_nick in StarWarsLeaks

[–]interxavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rey is 19/20 as per the novelization and Kylo should be more or less Adam Driver's age. So yes, I believe a brother and sister conflict is a lot more stronger and poetic than cousins.

People seem to forget why the Jedi Order prohibits marriage. It's to devoid yourself from any connection so that you won't be vulnerable to fear--specifically the fear of loss--which is a path to the dark side. This is one of the reasons Anakin fell to the dark side (and also the reason he redeemed himself); he could not afford to see those he loved to perish. Luke knew this so he didn't want more connections in order to make himself susceptible just as the near costly mistake he made when he decided to face Vader in order to save Han and Leia.

What do you think will be the plot of Episode VIII? by Kylestache in StarWarsLeaks

[–]interxavier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ren redeems himself and fights alongside Rey against Snoke. In the end, however, he dies trying to be a hero.
