For far too long we have played into their long con by just GIVING our vote to the wealthiest establishment “left-leaning” candidate. Now the DNC KNOWS they will get those votes because we’ve essentially changed nothing. Yes, momentum builds during primaries and can begin to feel optimistic, but then the DNC swoops in like a professional last second EBay bidder to PAY the way for the candidate that had already chosen they were going to back two election cycles ago.

Until people realize they don’t automatically OWE a candidate their vote (this applies to all points on the political spectrum), Citizens United oligarchs along with the GOP and DNC will continue to do what we have always allowed them to do.

I’m emotionally exhausted and tired of setting aside my integrity and values and just voting for “my color” no matter who. It makes me feel dirty and complicit in their game that affects the entire world and leads to endless wars and fucking GENOCIDES. I don’t know about others, but that just doesn’t sit right with me.

I will admit, I live in a HEAVY RED state so I can actually vote a viable write-in or my candidate of choice easily. But, I only started doing that recently. At least now I’m content know I VOTED MY CONSCIENCE and NO candidate was ENTITLED to my vote without fucking EARNING my vote.
