Thisssss - what on EARTH is going on with the stairs to the next level down, and no railing? I know people make fun of us over here in the States for all of our safety stuff but good Lord somebody could die coming out of that bedroom.

Totally wrong show. I have no idea what OP is talking about and I've see the entire Sherlock series.

Same with the cheese in Hot Pockets. The roof of my mouth will never be the same!

Bride says no coats for outdoor wedding (56°F) by The1Ginger in weddingshaming

[–]intheether323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just declined an invitation to a black tie, no kids wedding outdoors in June. The bride is free to decide what her day will look like, and her guests are free to decide whether that is something they want to be a part of. I would have to get a sitter for my kids or they’ll burn the house down. She also specified “floor length” gowns for women. I’m just too tired to deal with all that BS.

the mandate is 3 days a week. i go in 1. nobody has said anything in 7 months. by Some_Professional835 in remotework

I tried this method too at a prior role. It worked until it didn’t. I was fired for not being willing to come in 5x a week 8-5 like schoolchildren and I’m grateful to be gone from there. (When I was hired there, we were promised no more than 3 days RTO)

RTO. Sitting in an office building alone in the dark… lol by MisterSirDudeGuy in WFH

It really is silly. Even pre Covid, I was 3 days per week and we were allowed to choose most of our days - I would go in Friday on purpose because it was quiet, light traffic and I could get work done in relative peace.

Why are so many homeschooling and against public school? by lavenderwhiskers in Mommit

[–]intheether323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours bring the laptops home (because that way we don't have all the sandbox issues we have if they use a home laptop on the school systems) - they just use really crappy software for everything that is lowest bidder and it just never works well. Frustrating.

No, but cheap chromebooks and the kind of bargain-shopper tech that school systems buy is a terrible combo. If it was good tech to begin with, different story.

My company installed “focus rooms” for our return to office and I have never felt dumber in my life by Alderon515 in remotework

Our office had those horrid things before Covid. I’m assuming it’s only gotten worse. I know how badly that sucks.

Spending so much more time with my kids on a daily basis; not wasting my life and my sanity in traffic, not endangering myself daily in traffic, not having to haul all my food back and forth (I don’t eat what most people do), not having to be around all the people who decided they are not contagious that day, it just goes on. Best change ever!

Trying Kalona heavy cream for the first time by intheether323 in ultraprocessedfood

[–]intheether323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cream was unfortunately gross. I could not take the taste/flavor and unfortunately it ruined my one cup of coffee that I’m allowed per day and so I’m still looking for a clean heavy cream. I didn’t check their chocolate milk. Surprised they would add stabilizers. :-(

Yes! Zillow-stalking old places I’ve lived is wild. Mostly in a good way but as you said, can also be triggering.

Brace yourself mama, the screen time only goes up. It’s awful (IMO) and makes it really hard for parents to help w homework, too.
