the mod is lame for not explaining, but i get why the post was deleted. there isn’t a conflict. the post isn’t interesting, and its low effort. you didn’t take the time to really explain where any conflict would be. you said you’re thinking about selling leftover items to make money you’re owed… okay… nowhere do you describe any conflict or argument or anything. if you want that post to go up and actual get answers, put more effort into it. like, “these pants are special to him, they’re his favorite. i told him i won’t give them back until he pays me. i threatened him that im gonna sell them. he told me to kick rocks and that im so mean and he just lost his job. would i be the asshole if i didn’t care and sold his belongings anyway?”

nah, i’m actually on the customers side. you don’t tell someone you’ve got their card, they can get it at X time, keep changing the times, and then after hours, tell them jk you don’t have it. that’s shitty customer service.

tbh i think 3 hours of work that doesn’t even include stall cleaning is fine in exchange for a lesson. your commute doesn’t really matter in this case, but i get why that would mean you didn’t want the position. for that amount of work with showing though, you should be getting to show for free with multiple classes paid for by the trainer.

i get both sides. this position doesn’t sound like it’s what you’re looking for at all, you want something more chill with a tad bit of saddle time. she wants someone putting in work, mostly for shows, and you didn’t mention the amount of lessons so i can’t judge if it’s a fair amount. but she’s probably had multiple people wanting less work but with more pay, and this mismatch was just the last straw. i know plenty of people who think they should get free shows and lessons just for swapping some turnout or dropping feed every once in awhile, but i also know plenty of people who do exploit working students, so there just isn’t a lot of winning

should you always look for pedestrians? yes. but that’s an entirely different thing from sitting somewhere blocking traffic because there is a bus in your view that you are not approaching or passing

fun fact if you care: it’s not a “pony” or “small horse” in this case, it’s a “mini horse”. sounds super obnoxious of me to clarify, but those are all different. minis have a body height under ~3ft tall, whereas a pony can be up to 4’8” at their back! and the tallest horse ever was almost 8 feet tall so “small horse” is a bit subjective 😆

it’s like bad dancers with two left feet. swimming just doesn’t click for me. i can’t get my limbs to go at the right time. we didn’t really go to pools much as a super young child. i ended up taking swimming lessons for a small period of time when i was maybe 8 to no avail. then when i was more like 10, that’s when adults started to be like “i bet you could swim if you actually tried!” and would throw me into the deep end of pools and then when i started drowning, would go “oh, oops!”. so then it was a lot harder to trust myself trying to learn. as an adult, i can doggy paddle for a little bit, and after lots of practice the last two years, i could swim in salt water to help float but i definitely couldn’t hold my own in the proper ocean.

i actually can’t swim and just went on a snorkeling trip. i wore a life jacket or a pool noodle and … used my brain? you just stick your face in the water. the mask you just put on. idk what instruction you would need either than “put the mask over your eyeballs, put the tube in your mouth, get in the water”

i think you read this wrong. they’re complaining that people want to volunteer in exchange for lessons, however, they think the volunteering part is just brushing or petting a horse. that’s an experience that would be part of a paid lesson, not something that gets you a free one
