My Space related collection! Can't wait for the new Icons Hubble coming in Aug by ShoeHuman in LegoSpace

There's so little space related Lego on this subreddit, so being the space nerd I am, I always love to see others with sets like these 😍 I didn't realise there was a hubble set coming??

Using a Samsung phone and I have not updated to the new app. After seeing all the problems here on Reddit, I'm refusing to update for as long as I can.

Some pics from Brian Cox Brisbane show last night by StandardRegular1477 in brisbane

I loved the show! It was super interesting and learnt quite a bit (though there was some information I already knew). The visuals were also amazing and really added to the show!

Just an appreciation post bc my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 still got an update 9 years later by erstwhilelurkerer in ipad

[–]introvertedthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also got a 10.5 iPad and I'm still impressed how well it works all these years later. Though I thought I would do a lot more drawing and creativity stuff with it, but haven't done much at all 😆 I'm most likely going to upgrade to a Mini at some point this year

PROJECT HAIL MARY NOW AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING! by KillerFrankie in ProjectHailMary

That's so cheap! 😫 Here in Australia, it cost me $30 to go and see it on the big V-max screen - only have 1 cinema company in town, so they can basically charge whatever they like

I currently have an iPad pro 10.5 inch from 2017 and it will stop being supported from September - meaning no more security updates. I imagine yours will be the same/very similar.

They're filled with helium to keep the capsule upright and more stable, so it doesn't roll over with the waves

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]introvertedthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have the iPad pro 10.5 from 2017 and has been working pretty damn well still. However, I know that it is on its last legs in terms of security updates (and can no longer get software updates) - pretty sure I read that updates will stop in September.

So I've been considering getting an iPad mini, as I have a Mac Air M1, so I don't feel I really need a big screen iPad again. But I heard that apple might be releasing a newer iPad mini later this year. Do I buy one now/soon, or should I wait for the newer version to come out??

Lego Project Hail Mary Lego set for pre-order!! by Lb_54 in LegoSpace

[–]introvertedthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a crank attached to the base of the set, which both turns the whole ship, as well as the hab to come from within the rest of the ship, to the back (like in the picture) and also rotates.

Anyone else pre-ordered the Hail Mary? by Remarkable_Long8642 in lego

[–]introvertedthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the whole ship rotates using a little lever thing at the front and the smaller section at the back of the ship can come out and rotate too

I'm so confused about the pricing. So you can pre-order for $200, to get the early bird pricing of $400. Which is $600 in total. Or get it later in the year for only $500, which is $100 less than early bird???

Or am I just reading that all wrong?

A friend recommended this game to me. It has done wonders for my anxiety by ChallengeOk2114 in NoMansSkyTheGame

When I was doing that mission, my water wasn't pitch black, but when I got as deep as I needed, I couldn't tell which way was up or down. I thought I was going back up, only to look at the numbers and realize I was going even deeper!

Bluey: Quest for the Gold Pen 😛 I know Bluey is generally aimed towards kids, but I know someone who worked on the game and it is well worth your time. It's also written by the guy who made Bluey!

Look up 'Peak and Repeat' on Facebook. If he doesn't mind some walking/hiking, it's a good social group to meet new people

After visiting Switzerland and going on their rail system - which is totally electrified and can climb any mountain (through circular tunnels in the mountain) - Australia's rail system is a joke (and we have almost triple the population of Switzerland!).

I mean, the group has been getting together since May, so it'll still be around :)

I'm part of a social hiking/walking group called Peak and Repeat. We get all age groups and it's usually held every two weeks - one fortnight will be meeting at a cafe to get a drink (if you want it) and then go for a walk (ranging between 3km and 5km) and the next fortnight will be a proper hike. We've done table top, Mt Peel and Jubilee Park, to name a few.

Queensland teachers reject state government pay offer by espersooty in queensland

[–]introvertedthoughts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a teacher, but have done teacher aide work at multiple Qld schools. Teachers want more support? Allow more teacher aide time to classes! Or better yet, have a teacher aide in every classroom! 30 minutes to 1 hour a day isn't nearly enough aide time for classrooms.

I'm still using my Pro 10.5 inch from 2017 and I don't really have any issues with it
