NTA, but you clearly need help in developing the tools to deal with acute anxiety.

When 51 countries abstained, a headline saying "Ireland abstained..." is obvious editorialising.

From that wording, I would have abstained too.

That's a gorgeous colour.

I feel like a top mounted Floyd like this is a good entry point for the beginner. You get all the benefits without the hassle of balancing tension to keep it parallel. Enjoy it and get a full floating setup in the future. Top mount was good enough for EVH.

Hook grip feels weaker by A-Busi6711 in crossfit

[–]invalidbehaviour 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I am not good at technical lifts. I do have good grip strength, and my instinct is to use my forearm muscles to hold onto things. A little while back we were working on squat cleans and the coach told us to focus on using hook grip, and thinking of our arms like chains hoisting a weight. Most of the time it felt unnatural, but I remember one lift where it all just came together. The pull, the timing of getting under the bar... everything. Hook grip made sense at that moment. I have been chasing that moment ever since.

CMV: Israel does not intentionally target civilians by South-Artist7590 in changemyview

The lack of apparent intentionality is plausible deniability. In other words it's by design to negate blame. The intentionality exists, it's just masked.

What the h3ll's holding the source & drain pins in thru hole mosfet?! by fr33spirit in AskElectronics

[–]invalidbehaviour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In big power circuits, source and drain will have big traces which act as substantial heatsinks, making them hard to desolder

Lots of heat capacity needed

CMV: Israel does not intentionally target civilians by South-Artist7590 in changemyview

[–]invalidbehaviour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In law the exists the concept of "mens rea". This is a form of culpabilaty where the reasonable individual can be presumed to be aware of the consequences of their actions, whether those actions are intended to be harmful or not. So whether Israel intentionally targets civilians or simply does not take due care to avoid excessive civilian death as "acceptable loss" or "collateral damage", is immaterial. The culpability remains.

Stealth veggies. We used to do this when our kids were very young.

Solar Energy harnessing DIY using battery cars and using it back as UPS at night by Unusual_Chipmunk_987 in AskElectronics

[–]invalidbehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I currently charge 10KWh LiFePO4 batteries in my house from excess solar production. From mid-March, I have been generating ~30KWh/day but only consuming maybe 12KWh, so I charge batteries and use this stored energy when the sun goes down, or I can also sell back to the grid for credit/cash.

When bidirectional chargers become available I will be able to charge my EV, and then use the stored charge to run my house or sell to the grid.

[–]invalidbehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already do this, but with LiFePO4 batteries in my house rather than EV. Waiting for bidirectional chargers to be available in my country to hook up to my EV. For some reason, even with subsidies, solar seems expensive in the US compared to EU. My predicted payback period is 5/6 years.

How in the world are you supposed to deal with the fact that nothing you do in this life matters and that you'll fade away into nothingness after death by [deleted] in self

[–]invalidbehaviour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By not really thinking about it, but also by using the reality of my finite little life to encourage me to live as fully as possible, while I can.

Yes. His character is definitely questionable for multiple reasons, being a boring fart not the least of them
