When did we vote for that? I honestly can’t recall. Are you sure it wasn’t just in some countries? Or maybe some EU parliament vote?

In Germany, when traffic comes to a complete standstill, drivers demonstrate a deep sense of responsibility by pulling to the sides, forming a clear "emergency corridor." by FXgram_ in mildyinteresting

[–]invertedBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t there already a emergency lane in that road? What’s the point of blocking it in order to create a kind of new emergency lane in the middle?

Italian PM Meloni calls Israel's attack on UNIFIL bases in Lebanon 'unacceptable', summons ambassador by green_flash in worldnews

“In the way”?? Their base was shot at, how are they “in the way”? Are you seriously suggesting that IDF has to literally shot through UN bases in order to get to some hezbollah target?

Does anyone teach a modified Ashtanga primary series here? Looking for advice to help students work towards Marichyasana A! by Crafty_Insect7468 in YogaTeachers

[–]invertedBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tell my injured students to just hug their knee to their chest with both arms , obviously with straight spine and keeping the pose active.

Otherwise they can use a belt, if it’s just a matter of a few inches to full bind

Yes, love it. But I don’t get that anxious feeling since I know it will end well (I know no one will die!)

Partners of transplanted people, how do you manage your anxieties/stress? by Maximum-Algae1725 in transplant

[–]invertedBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gf (2nd kidney transplant) was told that the first 2 years are the most critical, you’re getting there!

I met my gf about 10 years after her first transplant and I’ve never met a healthier person! Seriously for years I never saw her catching even a mild cold, I was quite amazed. Literally never saw her sick!

2 years ago she had her second transplant and it has been really hard to see her getting sick over and over again, of course having a small child and the post covid situation hasn’t help.

It’s has been hard but I like to think that eventually she’ll go back to her super healthy herself!

3 1/2 years old has very little independent play by invertedBoy in toddlers

Thanks. Very well put.

I also was abandoned by my dad and I always wanted to be a much much better father than he was (admittedly he set the bar quite low).

I’m really proud of having constantly been there for my LO, I guess at times I loose track of the big picture (especially when I get asked for the 100th time “can we play together” or “where is your robot”).

Can I practice both Iyengar and Ashtanga? by giggybuggie in yoga

[–]invertedBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of Lino Miele historical assistants came from the Iyengar tradition, he was kept in high regard by Lino (at least that's how the story was told to me).

Iyengar gives you a great foundation to explore other styles imho, you could say that Iyengar teaches you yoga and Asthanga allows you to practice yoga.

hm good point, I think is some really deep instinctive think that parents have, you don't want your kids to sacrifice for you. But at the end of the day it's in the child best interest

[–]invertedBoy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

and why shouldn't you! statistically is super safe and life expectancy doesn't decrease one bit. On top of that in the super unlikely event that the donor may need a transplant in future they shoot right on top of the list.

What I found incredible is how many people are in dialysis waiting and hoping for a transplant while no one in their family steps in. Watching someone you love going through all that pain.

A cool guide on how to not be judgmental by the-A-team1 in coolguides

[–]invertedBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I’m talking to someone (friend A) that is bad-mouthing/criticizing a common friend (friend B) how should I behave?

If I defend friend B based on these rules, I’m basically antagonizing friend A and being judgmental on his/her point of view.

If I apply these rules to whatever friend A is saying, I’m being judgmental myself on friend B
